Rather Than Delivering the Mail

I never thought I would live to see real life electronic reenactments of the above scene in the land of the free and the home of the brave.  Go here to read the rest.  The only saving grace is that if this program is being done with the same efficiency with which Uncle Snail delivers the mail, we have nothing to fear.  If the minions of the Post Office are following this blog I hope they remember that there are two “c’s” in McClarey.

There isn’t much excuse for maintaining a fee-for-service enterprise like the postal service as a public corporation. Put it on the auction bloc. If you’re interested in capping rates at a certain multiple of the mean, have DHL, Fed Ex, Amazon, UPS, and USPS submit sealed bids to do so. As for the Postal Inspection Service, fire every single person who works there who is not employed in the business of …. postal inspection.

I don’t have a problem with someone in law enforcement watching public posts to be aware of where protests are going to happen, I’d be horrified if there aren’t at least three basic spider programs for various levels of government to do this, plus businesses — but the post office? WHY?

Newman: “All right. It’s true. Of course nobody needs mail.
What, you think you’re so clever, figuring that one out?
But you don’t know the half of what goes on here.
So just walk away, Kramer. I beg of you.”
