She should be thankful that any of her relatives are tolerant enough to ever utter a word to her.

Comment to see.
Yes, remind folks why they don’t like you.
She sounds like the Gestapoe.
Maybe some of her relatives were glad that they didn’t have to see her in person for awhile.
It’s hard to tell, but it looks like she is another one of those “white hating” Caucasians that are stooges for this whole charade.
I suggest that witch never talk with me. I have no tolerance with a wicked Jezebel.
Cathy-
a heck of a lot of the most obnoxious are very well off and paler than I am; they don’t have religion, so they made their own.
It’s sad.
She’s employed by a sorosphere outfit (though she seems to have been telecommuting from Nashville of late). Notable features: (1) she has a BA in ‘women’s studies’ from UCLA. NB, college students are seldom fool enough to major in victimology. The most popular is women’s studies. There are about 1.9 million BA degrees issued each year; about 1,200 are in women’s studies. It doesn’t sound like she ever had any sort of scholarly disposition, but that didn’t prevent the sociology department at Vanderbilt from admitting her to their program. She worked on a dissertation fitfully for about 11 years, finishing it five years ago.

Martin Peretz once said that in the disciplines he knew something about, the ‘latest developments’ mostly concern trivia. Here it is. She uses ‘interview data’, which I’ll wager is code for ‘no stats here’. The Center for American Progress hired her to write on the economy. She’s a year and change shy of 40. No indication of any husband or children.
Good digging Art.
As far as I can tell, she grew up in a small town about 35 miles north of Sacramento. She’s the 3d of 4 children. Her parents are 66 and 67, so one might wager retired. They live in a 1,600 square foot ranch house in the town where she finished high school. It would not surprise me to discover she is very unlike her family.
From one wag:
“yes, Galaxy Brain, eff with people preparing a free meal for you.”
I’m sure by her standards she has a lot more racist relatives than she did a year ago, now that the truth is out about Dr. Seuss, The Bachelor, the state of Georgia…
🙂
The only real hard conversation we should be having is how fat we are.

.
Not really.
For starters, a screening test for obesity should NEVER be used to diagnose anything.
That is what BMI is. “Screen out folks who 99% (May be 95%, can’t remember which is after the change) could not possibly have the condition.”
Not a diagnosis.
Secondly, BMI based obesity is a known secondary effect of a lot of serious medical issues.
When they tried to run the stats through while dealing with the known “this will kill you” factors, BMI failed to trigger anything— but since it’s a know side effect of treatment for a lot of fatal diseases, guess what, it shows up a lot. So a lot of those who died did have high BMI. BECAUSE THEY WERE DYING, AND SOMETIMES IT’S CAUSED BY TREATMENT.
There is also the obvious issue with the opening stat about how many of those who die with COVID being over weight or obese–overweight is a known risk factor for not dying when you have other serious health risks.
When examined, “over weight” had the best “not dying” outcomes. Overweight and underweight tied, and “healthy” weight was below.
So most of those in delicate health conditions, in teh elderly ranges, are “overweight” because they haven’t already died.
Just yesterday I read an article linked by Instapundit (you can find it there) concerning a study that found inactivity to be a risk factor for serious COVID illness to a greater degree than obesity alone. The gist of the study was that even for people who were obese, the more they exercised, the less likely they were to get seriously sick. This is of interest to me as an obese person who exercises regularly (but still loves to eat 🙂 It’s a very small study but I would guess that the more one exercises, the stronger one’s heart and lungs are and therefore the less likely one is to succumb to respiratory infection. There have been other studies showing that while there is, technically, no such thing as a “fit” or “healthy” fat person, being an active fat person is better, or at least less bad, than being a sedentary fat person. Perhaps inactivity is the real core risk factor for COVID rather than weight or BMI alone?
Oh, interesting…. I know when I’ve been in the hospital after surgery, they have those “exercise your lungs” things to encourage you to fill your lungs fully– exactly to prevent pneumonia, since you can’t move around.
Looks like a conversation has started.
