The Tech Lords do not seek to just run the US:
Facebook announced Thursday it has blocked Australians from viewing and sharing news on the platform because of proposed laws in the country to make digital giants pay for journalism.
Australian publishers can continue to publish news content on Facebook, but links and posts can’t be viewed or shared by Australian audiences, the U.S.-based company said in a statement.
Australian users cannot share Australian or international news.
International users outside Australia also cannot share Australian news.

How great is this! And this is the first time I’ve ever seen such strong bi-partisan unity of our political parties on any issue. It’s a badge of honour to be cancelled by Facebook. I hope other governments follow.
Let us hope other countries support and imitate Australia.
The positive thing which will come out of this is that hopefully the general public will start to wake up, stop being lazy and stop relying on platforms like Facebook and the like for their news. We all know Facebook filters what they allow particularly if it doesn’t “fit” into their agenda. There are so many platforms out there which genuinely aim to publish the truth. I go to various sources for my news- including really good blogs, such as this blog, for my news.
So Facebook pulled a knife on crocodile Dundee, hmmm. “That’s not” wise.
It’s telling that the Tech Giants will accept any dictate from non-democratic regimes in the socialist and Islamic worlds, but then attempt to bully democracies. Australia should respond with legislation to regulate social media as public utilities, with the idea that it will become a model for protecting consumer rights for the rest of the world.
