Florida? Why not California, New York, Pennsylvania or even Illinois. All those states have performed terrible compared to Florida
Maybe China Joe should read the Constitution. We actually have a right to interstate travel. My co-counsel and I won a suit in Federal Court last year upholding that right. Apparently, Joe knows better. We shall see.
Michigan? Okay, I know, snow without the Rockies for skiing, but cross country skiing, ice fishing and snow shoe-ing are fun too. (Maybe not so much ice fishing.)

Let the tourists come!
This isn’t Australia, where they could stop the virus at the door. One thing that’s destroyed the credibility of public health authorities is that they repeatedly impose measures which are useless or which serve only to displace cases from one period to another and never issue advisories or regulations meant to protect those actually vulnerable. The echt example is California slapping restrictions on beach going and outdoor dining (while insiders were gracing super-expensive establishments in the Napa Valley). I have yet to see or hear of a locality doing something sensible, like limiting indoor patronage at bars and restaurants to persons under 50 and requiring gathering places to post notices advising patrons to stick to take out or outdoor settings if they reside with someone over 50. I have yet to hear of a school district which furloughed its elderly employees and then continued as best they could. We never had to inconvenience the young and we have known that since April. As for the vaccine rollout, the best that could be said is that the scandal is less pronounced here than it is anywhere else in the world bar Israel, the Gulf emirates, and Britain. Even at our pokey pace, we could have fully vaccinated the hands-on medical sector workers, the l/t care residents, and people over 90 by now, and gotten a 1st dose to everyone over the age of 72. We’re nowhere close to that because Democratic pols just had to feed their clientele.
You know the Democratic officialdom is doing this to punish Florida for voting for Trump.
And yet the nation’s borders remain open…
Don’t close the boarders. International or domestic.
1. Allow return travellers- fares at their own expense
2. 14 day Quarantine in hotels for return travellers- accomodation at their own expense.
3. Tight Quarantine conditions- governed by the States
4. Lockdown States for very short periods during a small outbreak (ie. Victoria for 5 days, Western Australia for 5 days).
5. Each State to close down particular suburbs or districts with an outbreak until under control. Don’t lockdown entire States for long periods!
6. New South Wales tightened and eased restrictions in response to outbreaks- masks were mandatory everywhere for 3 weeks only, then this was gradually eased to now only public transport. Victorian have been on mandatory masks for months on end!
Look up the State of New South Wales Covid Response- it has the largest population in Australia (run by an economically conscious Premiere). Compare it to Queensland and Victoria who are run by lefty loony Premieres who are LAZY and close borders at a whim and to score political points. The lefty loons killed their economies and still have on-going outbreaks because of inept Quarantine and contact-tracing. NSW has stayed open, has excellent contact-tracing and strict hotel quarantine regulations and conditions. And NSW accept more return travellers on behalf of the other States than any other State. The US could easily do the same. Touch-wood.
