It is melancholy when reading History to see how powerful in human affairs arrogance and stupidity have been.
Life Lessons From Babylon 5: Arrogance and Stupidty
- Donald R. McClarey
Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
In our day the New World Order will soon find out about their arrogance and stupidity.
For a guy that didn’t get to continue Making America Great Again, Donald John Trump had massive coattails.
Judge ruled that NY Congressional 22 won by GOP candidate.
Outstanding Post!
Another major malfunction of arrogant/stupid is the consistent belief that everybody is stupid, or a bed-wetter, as are they.
Today, they seem to believe the consent of the governed is irrelevant.
Irish Democracy.
Chinese Joe Didn’t Win.
We Were Robbed.
We Know What They Did Last November.
Arrogance and stupidity? Yes, by all means, but pride and lust seem to be the drive engines.
I fear we face not only arrogance and stupidity, but active malevolence. The next time the cannons roar, we will be playing the role of the Germans.
The Evil One effects his aims through willing ambassadors, as later episodes of Babylon 5 show. And see also C.S. Lewis: The Space Trilogy–“Out of the Silent Planet,””Perelandra,” “That Hideous Strength.”
T Shaw – You can have all the opinions about Trump you want, but the world “coattails” has a definition, and it doesn’t include overseeing the loss of the House and Senate.
Unless by “coattails” you mean that he dragged the rest of the party along with him.
The establishment Republicans have been selling out the Trump voters for decades. They had the Never Trump press to give them cover. I no longer have any confidence in the Federalist Society as a judge of judges. Too many are establishment institutional apparatchiks that end up going wobbly. Attorney Robert Barnes is critical of both SCOTUS and the Federalist Society. For the most part I think it is more accurate to call the Trump judges the McConnell judges. The establishment Republicans sell out for positions and perks. All talk and no action. Trump blew their cover wide open for all to see. Their con job got busted. Makes me thankful that I am a registered Independent.
