Trump Derangement Syndrome on steroids:

In a lengthy message originally posted in a Binders Group on Facebook, a woman claimed that she’s led her 6-year-old son to believe that President Barack Obama is still president despite the fact that No. 44 hasn’t been in office for nearly an entire presidential term. The message surfaced on Twitter on Saturday and caught the attention of liberals, conservatives and just plain concerned parents, many of whom feel that the mom was wrong for going through such length to keep the existence of Trump’s presidency from her child.

“It’s still 2008 in my home. That is, my 6-year-old son assumes Obama is president, he knows Biden is president-elect, but he has no idea Trump exists—which is a deliberate parenting choice I made that spun aa little out of control over the past four years,” the woman’s post reads. “In 2016, I deliberately shifted the way my family consumes information. I swapped all of our print subscriptions for digital, keeping headlines far from the eyes of my curious son. During our morning commute, I changed the channel from NPR to indie music. We stopped watching TV news entirely.”

Go here to read the rest.  I was fairly precocious as a child, but I doubt if I knew who was president in 1963, or cared, until Kennedy was assassinated.  This is all about Mom and has nothing to do with the tyke who has the misfortune to have a deranged person as his mother.

Anyone want to make a crazy guess whether this child has a strong father figure?

Don, you maybe wrong. My wife is a pre-school teacher of 4 year olds. One little girl in her class hates Trump and has said he was evil, going on and on about him. I think the lies her parents have taught her borders on child abuse.

In this age of “feelings” overriding biological fact, I’m not at all surprised by that ditzy mom.

We live in a strange time. An apple is only if you agree that it is but it could be an orange if someone else believes it to be, regardless of the proofs.

Living without Truth.
No God.

Relativism has devolved into a make believe world that fools the fool into believing it’s own fiction and then receives acknowledgement from others.

Maybe she’s right in lying to her son.
Obama was the last president!

Then again….

It’s rather silly. She isn’t poisoning his mind about Trump, just pretending Trump isn’t there. He’ll discover later his mother is capable of clownishness and his inclination to listen to her will be duly vitiated.

Note that at age 6, the kid probably wouldn’t even have known who Obama was if he had been allowed to live normally. She can’t even use the excuse of “my child would be too traumatized to learn that Obama is no longer president since he idolized him so much during his presidency.” (as if 6 year olds cared politics on top of that.)

In 1970 when I was 6 years old, I didn’t yet know or care who was president and had only a vague awareness of a war in some place called Vietnam. I do remember Nixon being reelected in ’72 and resigning in ’74, but I don’t recall my parents saying anything about him, bad or good. I had no idea how they voted until I was in 8th or 9th grade. They were generally Republican and they did like Reagan but I cant recall them ever saying anything bad, or good, about Nixon, Ford or Carter – at least not in my presence.

I knew my patents voted for Ford. Mother disliked Carter and wrote him many letters saying how stupid his policies were.
.
Good times under Pres. Reagan. You can hear it in the music.
.
I held my nose and voted for Trump, then I shut myself off from the news until Covid.
.
I put a sign in my yard for him proudly this time. I cannot fathom how the Dems managed to steal this election or why the GOP stands aside. Well, yes, I guess I do. Power corrupts, and none of these people will suffer for their criminal behavior.

A lot of people out there are stealing oxygen.

Suppose you were a liberal democrat and suppose you were an insane imbecile. But, I repeat myself. With apologies to Mark Twain on congressmen.

l pray she is not trying to convince the son to ‘identify’ as a girl and be pharmaceutically and surgically castrated.

The Shallow End of the Gene Pool File:

On further consideration, castration may be appropriate. That woman’s spawn should not be permitted to procreate.

The most I remember of presidents as a child was the tv show DC follies. But even then i barely remember any details only that Reagan was president and I liked the funny puppets.

The default setting is not to pay too much attention to your mother after a certain age. There are capable people whose counsel is important to their adolescent and young adult children and now and again some are mothers. I doubt this woman is in that taxon. And if she’s bonded to him only haphazardly over the years, she’ll have the status of item-on-a-to-do-list whether she likes it or not.
