Is the communist manifesto still “the best playbook” for a totalitarian government?
I don’t think The Prince has ever been surpassed for ways to rule the unwilling.
What sin, or combination of sins, is it that causes “power mongering”? Pride, greed?
.
Seriously, Tyrants Gretchen, Bill, Mario, and David have thrown millions out of work and into poverty. And this benefits them how, exactly? This certainly is not helping the tax receipts any. Gretchen can brag that there are now over 800,000 on MI Medicaid program, but I don’t see how this is any thing to celebrate.
.
I am thinking they have seized on this to complete the socialization of healthcare in this country–possibly to de-populate planet.
.
But again, to what end? Seriously, how much money and power does one need? They have their millions, (most especially Gates, Soros, Zuk, and Bezos). Please, just call it a day and go play golf.

I apologize if your questions were being rhetorical. My guess is the age old adage; “Absolute power corrupts absolutely.”
My questions are where will this lead
and how many more will suffer?
Relevant radio had a Chinese diplomat on speaking about the blatant abuses for those individuals who do not color within the lines. They are hauled off to work camps and re-education camps because their opinions differ from the CCP.
Oh. And organ harvesting too. How nice.
Is this the model the Democrats are aiming for?
Just something for the left to remember incase their hubris gets in the way of common sense;

We won’t make it easy for them when they try to invade our homes.
Oh, I know, Philip. Power corrupts.
.
Maybe I just don’t get these people because I really AM the lazy domestic diva I always claimed to be. These folks are spending an awful lot of time and energy ruining other people’s lives, and there is no logic to it at all. Chill people. Go have a beer. Gretchen can go sail away on her boat and David can hang out at his vineyard. Bill and Mario must have someplace to retire to (just not my sports club).
.
There must be a warped religious element to it. They should have taken way more arithmetic and descriptive chemistry in school.
“Domestic diva” appears to be the wrong term. They dust while wearing Prada. I don’t. Dust, that is.
.
So, just “lazy.”
Dusting off the CS Lewis quotes.
“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
That quote is poorly applied in most situations– in context, it actually works better for the current situation than is really comfortable.
It’s from The Humanitarian Theory of Punishment, which can be found in God in the Dock.
Or you can look for a much earlier quote:
According to the Humanitarian theory, to punish a man because he deserves it, and as much as he deserves, is mere revenge, and, therefore, barbarous and immoral. It is maintained that the only legitimate motives for punishing are the desire to deter others by example or to mend the criminal.
To make clear what’s missing from those motives for punishment– it’s the one who is wronged, and the wrong done.
Thanks Foxfier, Nate and DJH.
The shortest day approaches tomorrow and my naivete hopes for better days ahead. Light filled days.
Gut instinct tells me we have many a dark cloud ahead, but regardless we have what matters most. We do have the Redeemer. In that most precious and incredible relationship we truly can say “take your best shot.” No punishment nor edict will stand harmful towards those who Trust is in the Lord.
Ceasar will always be making him/herself exulted and obeyed as best as Ceasar can, but they can’t conquer the Spirit of a Christian.
They will loose even when they think that they have won.
By winning they have swelled the ranks of more Christians. More converts. More footsoilders.
Gretchen, Gates, Soros, Zuke and Bezos will never capture, contain or convince a true believer.
Tyrants come and tyrants go.
Christ remains forever.
Viva Christo Rey.
DJH.
A warped religious element.

Fathom this: JP Sears makes people laugh by using humor to speak truth to our social media techno-lords. And Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook and (I assume) Jack Dorsey of Twitter (both rich white men by the way) are so afraid of a funny, self-deprecating comedian with ridiculous long red hair that they have to censor him!
I can understand why Facebook censors me for declaring that the police should use deadly force against murderous insurrectionists and terrorists to protect the lives of innocent women and children. Indeed, maybe my exact words were too inflammatory: “They should be shot dead where they stand.” In always being against the initiation of force, I likewise have always advocated the use of overwhelming and unremitting force against those who initiate it. Such radicals include but are sadly not limited to militant Muslim extremists, BLM and Antifa. But that Facebook censors a jokester who makes fun of himself as his only weapon against tyranny is truly unfathomable. Ah, but there is the answer: tyranny like the devil cannot abide being laughed at. I have to wonder: will re-runs of that old TV show “Hogan’s Heroes” which laughingly made fun of Nazis now be censored?
