The Pope has advice to farmers:
Acknowledging what he described as “the decisive role of the agricultural and agri-food world” in the rebirth of the country, the Pope appealed to representatives of the sector to ensure that their contribution is offered “not by seeking the logic of profit, but that of service, not of exploitation of resources, but of care and attention to nature” that is to be seen “as a welcoming home for all.”
Go here to read the rest. Where to begin. A farm that is not earning a profit is going to go out of business quickly, unless it is a government operation which is perhaps what the Pope has in mind. The Pope seems to believe that it is impossible to seek profit while serving others. Almost all our needs and wants are served by people seeking profit. We tend to be most harmonious with strangers when our interaction with them is commercial in nature. Farmers tend to be excellent stewards of their land because it is impossible to have a long term profitable farm without being a good steward, and it belongs to the farmer/owner. None of this is rocket science, it is commonplace knowledge. That the Pope denies such obvious facts indicates his hostility to markets and private ownership.
“Pope” Francis does not understand God or Man. He is a menace to the world, a creature of Satan. Following him will only lead to disaster.
Somebody send this moron a book on the Mayflower. The Pilgrims tried a commune existence and it didn’t work.
Pope Francis is a heretic and an idiot. May God anathematize and depose him back to Argentina – if the country will have him back. Otherwise, just drop him in communist China where he really wants to be anyways.
My guess is that there are a few Catholic farmers in our great land who would be willing to suggest how Pope Francis should be a Pope…but because of their humility we won’t be hearing from them.
God Bless the American farmer..and God help Francis.
Yeah, that’s weird. Big agri can get out of hand, tearing down forests or whatever. Not going to be a problem for an Italian entrepreneur group.
Ask the Ukrainuans how that nonprofit approach worked out.
When was the last time a poor person gave anyone a job? Just wondering….
