British Soldier:
You call yourself a patriot, and loyal subject to the Crown?
Hawkeye:
I do not call myself subject to much at all.
Last of the Mohicans (1992)
Of all the terrible things that have occurred during this year, perhaps the worst is how many people are perfectly comfortable with the government, in a time of hysteria, taking away precious civil liberties, while allowing political proteges of the Democrat party to run riot. Time to end this with massive civil disobedience. Don’t think that would be tyrants aren’t paying close attention to how many people fall into line if the media constantly tells them to do so and if dissenting voices are squelched. To quote Homer Simpson, this isn’t America, it isn’t even Mexico. The Democrats, if they were wise, would tread lightly as many of their opponents are near the boiling point. Do I expect a sudden burst of common sense among the Democrat leadership? No, I do not.
“Time to end this with massive civil disobedience.”
The trigger to this future event is a hair trigger and our collective finger is on it.
When the shot that is heard around the world [2] occurs, I believe that many a minute man will be packed and ready to go to work.
The past rallies for Trump give me hope that there is a Republic worth fighting for. A stumbling block for their marxists agenda.
You are correct Donald;
“The Democrats, if they were wise, would tread lightly as many of their opponents are near the boiling point.”
For God and Country.
Resistance? Could be, though the real weapon–the churches–are near empty and hardly stacked with the ones who would make, could make, real warriors. These are interesting times when mankind appears about to slip into universal slavery…voluntarily. Will it happen? Perhaps enough haven’t yet seen the real consequences of their corrupt choices.
Protest? Against what? The vast majority of people in this country, even under the Tyrants Gretchen, Marios, and Gavin, are comfortably housed, feed, and entertained–far more so than most people on the planet ever have been. Even with fragile production and supply chain lines, the stores are filled with all manner of food stuffs, clothes, and novelties to buy. And the vast majority continue to have enough money to spend. I do not believe we are any where near the boiling point.
.
But the day is coming. I was talking about this with “Mamma” at our parish a couple of weeks ago. She’s pushing 80 and isn’t concerned for herself. She’ll be dead, buried, and quite probably in Heaven by that point. Her kids? Grandkids? And me and mine? Oh yes, we will live to see blood and hear bullets fly. I fear for my sons’ lives. All draft worthy. But not for a few years yet–if “the Kraken” thing gains traction, that may slow things down.
.
If food production and energy production drops off, that will speed things up. There was a small trucking strike a couple of weeks ago. A bigger one was planned these next few days. Not sure how that is going.
St. Augustine, The City of God, “Government without justice is organized brigandage.” Regnans in excelsis – we owe allegiance to God, not illegitimate organized brigands. l
Linked at Instapundit: so far no excess US deaths in 2020. China virus deaths were concurrent with declines in other death causes, e.g., heart disease.
The Democrat Party is a criminal enterprise masquerading as a political party.
“Time to end this with massive civil disobedience.”
Yes, but what will be the trigger? Most folks believe the govment has their best interests at heart. Maybe they need 4 of Biden/Harris to change their minds. We also need a new Populist/Nationalist political party to move things along.
My larger concern in all of this ordeal hasn’t been some of the restrictions – it’s that nobody showed any reluctance. i.e. “Well I guess we can stay home a few weeks, but I don’t like it.”
This whole ordeal is certainly not helped by the media, who anytime concerns or issues with the government’s actions are brought up, leap in with the number of deaths and hospitalizations like clockwork. No seriously, pick any public channel and watch a segment like good morning america or the news at 6. Without fail it’s almost word for word, “People [did something] despite 90,000 people now in the hospital with cornovirus.”
I believe this was something Ayn Rand talked about once – weaponized charity? The display of it is in abundance this year: https://markpshea.com/2020/11/23/the-mark-of-maga-is-narcissism/
The questions were Other-Centered, the way you do when you are thinking about other people and their suffering and anguish–that way Normals do in the face of tragedy.
. . .
False prophets like Marshall are leaders of a murder/suicide cult thinking only of themselves as they risk the lives, not only of 32 people in their immediate circle, but of the hundreds of people those 32 selfish, foolish people will likewise endanger. They could not care less about others. Instead, they see themselves as the heroes in a drama starring themselves in an imaginary war with Communists and Marxists attempting to steal their joy. It’s all about them. And if somebody sickens, or dies, or suffers debilitating years-long effects from COVID, too bad. It’s not their problem. They are heroes in the War Against the Imaginary Great Reset.
The word for this is childish and the name for people like this is “immature”. This is how babies think. Mom and Dad are sending me to bed, not because it is necessary that I get sleep, but because the whole universe is against me and I am a hero for having a tantrum. The doctors are making me think about the health of other people because they are plotting to oppress me, not because they are trying to prevent another 250,000 deaths. Everything is about Me.
Shea is using DARVO. Which is…really common, in narcissists.
Folks who are curious can go read on “raised by narcissists.”

DARVO: Deny, Accuse, Reverse Victim and Offender.
AKA, “They always accuse you of what they are doing.”
In this case, after four flippin’ years of Revolution Cosplay, the accusation of self-styled “great war against the imaginary” anything falls quite flat. Don’t get me started on the “tantrum” from the party of “I am upset, let’s burn down the neighborhood and hijack cars. If the riders resists or are the wrong color, we’ll beat them bloody.”
My larger concern in all of this ordeal hasn’t been some of the restrictions – it’s that nobody showed any reluctance. i.e. “Well I guess we can stay home a few weeks, but I don’t like it.”
The draconian punishments, misinformation and escalating use of mob violence mean that folks were lied to enough to think “two weeks to flatten the curve” was alright– based on lies out of Italy, which implied they aren’t medically over-run every flu season, and massive lies out of China that had months worth of spread assigned to days or weeks– and once isolated, they’re told nobody is protesting, unless it’s a resister who is being destroyed– they even claimed a freaking gang shooting was mask related!
Draw attention, be destroyed.
I know you’re about my age, so you know the work around from school– don’t draw attention, unless you must. Sure as bleep not to “raise awareness.”
Possibly better than weaponized charity is “tenderness.”
As in, “In the absence of faith, we govern by tenderness. And tenderness leads to the gas chamber.”
-Flannery O’Connor (longer quote here: https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/619427-if-other-ages-felt-less-they-saw-more-even-though )
I confess, two weeks to flatten the curve, close the schools. Okay. Then I thought testing would be good.
.
Wrong on both counts. I will do all I can to avoid the vaccine.

As to M.S.–I could barely read his post. Not sure how the “unify” with his type.
Given the shell games and try-every-door noncompliance which has characterized the behavior of the Governor of Michigan, local police and inspectorates are acting responsibly by ignoring her.
What appears to be the case about restrictions on freedom of movement is that they are quite effective when they are imposed in a timely fashion to protect islands (or a place like South Korea whose land borders are hermetically sealed). Now take a look at South Dakota, which has had no lockdowns and had little in the way of a spring outbreak. Their fall outbreak is their 1st. Michigan had a spring outbreak so had a body of people already immune. South Dakota’s hospitalizations have reached a plateau with about 24% of all beds occupied by COVID patients and the rate appears to be in incipient decline. Michigan’s may have reached a plateau with 17% of all beds occupied by COVID patients with no signs of decline yet. Note, the peak hospital census in Michigan is the same now as it was the last weeks of April. All the Governor’s harassment of people traveling to vacations cottages and garden stores is only marginally beneficial.
Mark, as is his wont, conveniently ignores how politicized the doctors have become, as was revealed by their response to the Floyd protests. Suddenly, gathering together in large crowds outdoors was not only not problematic, it was itself a health imperative.
And yet Mark and those like him rage against Covid-Fatigue and the deep disdain for the expertariat. One does not have to embrace Taylor Marshall as a prophet to object to the Cuomos, Whitmers and Newsoms.
When TIME magazine has you in their crosshairs for Person of the Year know that it’s a very dark period in your life.
Kinda like being honored with the Margaret Sanger award….not good;

Foxfier,
Thanks for the Darvo explanation.
Government without justice is organized brigandage.
Nothing President Donald John Trump did compares to the ‘moral evils’ of Bush’s and Obama’s unnecessary and unjust wars. That’s not me. That’s left cultist Glenn Greenwald’s 15 seconds of clarity.

80.53 deaths per 100,000.

According to Hopkins study.
98% survival rate.
Sounds like a bad flu bug hit.
But the spin, thanks MSM, thanks powers of darkness, has pushed US into this moment of time.
Advance the cause of radical liberalism at the cost of free and fair elections.
Thanks T. Shaw.
I hope I understood your point.
After the Civil War the population deficit was 1 million missing people out of an initial population of 30 million.
Today we have a bit of 330 million people. If there is a new civil war that is 11 million deaths.
The nonsense has to end one way or another, but let us work and pray for a peaceful solution.
