Saint of the Day Quote: Saint Benignus

HE was a disciple of St. Patrick, by whom he was appointed to the see of Armagh, after that apostle had resigned it. He was eminent for piety and virtue, and for the gentleness of his disposition; and resigned his see three years before his death, which happened in 468. See Colgan and Ware.

Please let me share this.
My mom passed away at 12:05am on this Saints feast day in 2015.

Joan Ona Taylor.

Family from County Armagh.
She never made it to Ireland like she wanted to before she passed away, but 5 minutes into St.Benignus’ day she was escorted to that Holy Shoreline where her, and my relatives who were served by Bishop Benignus centuries ago, welcomed my mom home.

I’m forever in her, and their, my relatives debt. Prayers, daily rosary, is SO very important. If you have a wayward son or daughter pray every day for their return to Our Fathers Holy House, the Catholic Church.

Thank you for your patience.
Phil

Thank you for that encouraging story, Phil. May your good mother’s soul rest in eternal peace.

Thank you Cathy.
She was as saintly as they come.
Raising five boys in the late 1950’s through the early 70’s.
Tumultuous times to say the least.

I’m so thankful that my parents had a chance to see my reversion to the Faith before they died.
God is so very good to all of us.

I love my MoM’s. Joan and Mary the Blessed Virgin.
