Ye Olde Fashioned Stuffed Ballot Boxes

Dave G is the only other person I’ve seen so far who has pointed out how this all proves how fake the Russia thing was.

If the Dems really believed the Russians affected the election, where are their efforts to tighten ballot security?
Instead in every instance they made efforts to make it easier for the Russians to smuggle in votes if they wanted.
The media is doing their darndest to make us a nation of goldfish.
Nate, our public schools have been doing that for decades. It’s not about learning how to think for yourself, it’s about memorizing what you are told.
@nekofanatic
You ain’t wrong and the youth are bad, but I’ve been noticing it among even older citizens who I know went through classic schooling and were taught to think for themselves.
The sad thing is that some people really have been taken by the media. I have relatives who supported Trump but now are convinced of two things:
1.) There is absolutely no voter fraud anywhere. Not a single illegal ballot in any state.
2.) The reason that President Trump “lost” was because “he wrote too many mean tweets and that pushed people away.”
When I try to push back against 1.) with highly suspicious voter patterns or 2.) with the fact that Trump’s total vote total is far too high to be consistent with a scenario where his base stayed home I just get the response “Well on the evening news they said something different…”
People have family members and friends who are Democrats and Biden supporters so they don’t want to call it out. Same for families who have gay or lesbian kids. They don’t want to publicly call that agenda out because of their love … that is why politically correct works. Because you are hurting the one you love
Mr. McClarey, I agree with your cultural outlook, but I always find it interesting when you worry through these kinds of election times where the one thing that would have been a brake on the craziness or perhaps it’s cure in some cases, you are so happy to have removed from the table in the 1860’s. It is past time that we reconsider the breakup of the US. Imagine a world of two or five Americas. At least let us bring back the Jeffersonian principles of 98. Somehow, I think you will make a snarky remark and leave it there. The problem remains and you have no other answer than that at some point we must either be ruled by those we despise or we rule them. Why is that? What drives you to such will to power?
Imagine a world of two or five Americas.
Which would now be provinces of either the Third Reich or the Soviet Union.
Now THERE’S an alternate history story for you, Don.
Imagine America that had remained split and broken, but then as the world wars break out, it slowly starts to fuse back together until reunited to fight the USSR…
Could be fun is all I’m saying.

It’s been done:

Thank you, Don! I can always count on you and John C Wright to introduce me to classics I’ve missed. 🙂
On the 3rd Reich or Soviet comment above . . . No Wilson = no entry into WWI = no stupid treaty of Versailles = no Hitler which further means no atomic bomb by 1945. No Hitler leaves Germany and the rest of Europe more than able to handle the Soviets. (That is granting you that the Soviets were ever a threat anyway.)
No Wilson = no entry into WWI = no stupid treaty of Versailles = no Hitler which further means no atomic bomb by 1945.
But for Wilson we would have been participating in World War I from 1914. Theodore Roosevelt, who Wilson beat, along with the hapless Taft, in 1912, wanted the US to participate in the War on the side of the Allies from the beginning of the War. As for the Soviets, the dead of Eastern Europe after World War II can attest as to how much of a threat they were.

Thanks for the fantasy daisy-chain. Always an education.
no stupid treaty of Versailles = no Hitler
The witless determinism in this remark is cute. There is no indication from German election returns during the period running from 1918 to 1929 that the volkisch / revanchist sector of the German electorate was worth a brass farthing or in danger of governing anything larger than a municipality. It required three distinct economic disasters for the German electorate to even consider giving them a turn at the wheel. (BTW, the Austrian Nazi Party won all of 3% of the vote in the 1930 elections. The Hungarian Nazis ca. 1931 commanded < 4% of the electorate. The revanchist outfit in Bulgaria also commanded shy of 4% of the electorate that year. Those on the losing end of the treaties of Versailles, Trianon, and Sevres weren’t enthusiasts of brutally disrupting the state system).
At least let us bring back the Jeffersonian principles of 98.
Yeah. Sounds like a plan.
