My bride and I and our son traveled to Aurora, Illinois for a picnic with our daughter today. Coming back on 59 we encountered a bunch of Trump supporters waving Trump banners at an intersection and people going by were waving, honking and giving thumbs up. I haven’t seen anything like that in Illinois since Reagan in 80. This is in a state that Trump is almost certain to lose and there is that type of enthusiasm.
“Radicalization.”
A cry from Libs is that it’s a time to get radical.
Just maybe their radical messages are going nowhere. Just maybe regular folk see the far Left for what they are. A departure from the American Way.
A way that was paved with our ancestors blood sweat and tears.
Not radical at all. Sacrificial.
Keep bombarding Heaven folks.
2pm Rosary with the Bishops tomorrow.
Storm Heaven with prayers.
Further evidence of the imminent Biden landslide: in Miami, 30,000 cars took part in a Latinos for Trump parade while 15 cars — not 15,000, not even 1,500, but 15! — turned out for a Biden parade.
We’ve been driving into Baltimore for mass the last few weekends and you wouldn’t know it’s a presidential election year. I’m sure Maryland goes Biden, but doesn’t seem excited about it. (Side note: I live in the suburbs, represented by Republican Andy Harris, so some people have Trump-Harris signs. Because 2020)
I must say though, I’m praying a lot more than I would be if Trump was leading the polls. Pray and fast!
I Googled the Latinos for Trump parade. Telling that the first hit was from the UK’s Daily Mail, not an American “news” organization.
If the Democrats Are Really So Far Ahead, Why Are They Acting So Desperate?
And this has what to do with Catholicism?
Having a presumed Catholic who is also a complete pro-abort elected President of these United States has rather an immense amount to do with Catholicism. In any case the brief of this blog covers both Catholicism and the US in very broad terms.
@M S Jones:
The theme of the blog is worth reviewing: “Politics and Culture from a Catholic Perspective.”
It does say that, right below the title banner….
I got lost– because of course I did, trying to find a non-drive-through to eat, since the Tank cannot make drive-throughs when loaded for visiting family– in the kind of area outside Columbus, Ohio that is usually covered with Democrat yard signs.
I saw two yard signs.
One was for Trump.
I saw more Trump bumper stickers on nice, new cars in Virginia than I saw for Biden in total. One Biden billboard. From the “Nasty Woman” vote, with Biden/Harris obviously filled in after the original board.
Three Tulsi 2020 billboards, that were up during last year’s trip, for heaven’s sake!
Considering the fact that Biden’s allies are rioting, beating people, destroying Catholic statues, censoring Catholic thought, bringing back the worst days of anti-catholic bigotry, and trying to turn our beloved country into a socialist nightmare…I’d say this post has everything to do with Catholicism.

Supposedly, the campaign’s modus operandi has been to schedule small events which can be cancelled at short notice, so I wouldn’t hold much by low turnout. See his appearance at Carnegie-Mellon, which was attended by a few camp follower reporters, campaign staff, and some technicians employed by the university and by the broadcast media. He has good days and bad days and you need to cancel on the bad days.
A poll on Nevada was just released by the major paper out there indicating that Trump was two points behind. If that poll is accurate Trump is slightly ahead nationally.

All of which makes for an embarrassingly bad campaign.
Small events aren’t about Biden’s health. They’re about your health and my health. Because Social Distancing! Unlike Trump, whose yuuge rallies are giant petri dishes that are going to get us all killed! Why can’t Trump be a responsible adult like Joe Biden?!
You may think I’m being sarcastic, but that’s about the gist of ABC’s reporting this morning on Trump’s rally yesterday.
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I am tired of being lectured about face diapers by Grampa Simpson.

Running scared. That is what gets them about Trump, he adamantly refuses to dance to their tune.
And this relates to spirituality, the church, humanity, humility and goodness how? Never did I think people generally thought to be not just Catholic but hard core traditional Catholics would take so much satisfaction in supporting a thrice married, twice divorced serial adulterer who pays off porn start to keep his affairs hidden and brags about not needing God’s forgiveness for anything. We will know soon enough who wins the election. But we already know who the losers are.
The unborn John if your candidate wins. The Emperor Constantine who legalized Christianity in the Roman Empire executed a son and a wife. If we wait for politicians who are saints we will wait for a very long time. Of course if Trump were running against a happily married man who was pro-life and a conservative I would vote for that candidate. As it is Trump is running against a pro-abort politician, who is manifestly mentally failing, and is now a puppet for the far Left. Easy choice.
Choices, choices…. sit with the guy who sins and has sinned, but doesn’t pretend it’s a good thing, and recognizes little stuff like not forcing people to sin… or join up with the gossiping, slandering, malicious promoters of detraction who tell us how holy they are while forcing people to violate even the most basic of morality and decency.
I’ll side with “protecting folks’ God-given rights as best possible” over the folks who openly demand active participation in sin but want me to reject the other guy for being imperfect.
You’d think folks who are so all-fired interested in sin would be familiar with the idea of not believing accusations from a porn star whose entire claim boils down to “sure, he paid off the first blackmail demand, but I’m going to break that agreement anyways.”
Decades after pay-off-the-accusation became standard procedure as cheaper than taking it to court, because gossipy old women of all ages and both sexes are too enamored with their vices to care if there’s truth involved, much less finer moral considerations when their gossip is juicy.
The Emperor Constantine who legalized Christianity in the Roman Empire executed a son and a wife.
A son, a wife, a father-in-law; divorced his first wife to marry the one he had murdered, a couple of imperial colleagues whose lives he promised to spare.
Basically another David.
There’s an essay over at Townhall.com, “Signs That Trump Isn’t Going to Win on Nov. 3,” by Kevin McCullough that’s worth reading.
The title is ironic. Trump is totally going to win.
Although John Hinderacker at Power Line thinks he’s overstating the case.

@ John: So glad to see that you are so pure that you can do willingly gather stones. John 8:7
And all along I thought there was only one Immaculate Conception.
Townhall link is worth reading. Thanks.
