Good morning Mary.
Douay-Rheims Bible. Matt. 11:25
At that time Jesus answered and said: I confess to thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to the little ones.

1st. Corinthians 1:27;
But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.
These two passages entered into my heart after reading St. Anselm’s quote above.
I recall an instructor who said; “Look up. Always look up at Gods glory. Your heads always up to gaze on His canvas.” [ bad paraphrasing] The focus on His works in heaven help us to see His works on earth which are His regardless of the claims of worldly men being solely there own.
At my mother in laws gravesite in 2000, while finishing a Rosary for her, I felt the inspiration to look up. At that moment a perfectly cut out heart was formed in the beautiful blue sky above.
As if God had allowed a thank you from her to me that September morning.
All I could do was gaze in awe as it broke apart and sailed away.
Look up.
Expect miracles.
He’s a great loving God.
The cut out was a white cloud.
St. Anselm, St. Augustine, and Pope St. John Paul II are my favorite saints. St. Anselm was the first (or maybe in the forefront) of Medieval churchmen acting as matchmaker between rational analysis and faith, as in his ontological proof for the existence of God (which is a favorite tackling dummy for professional philosophers.)
And my favorite quote: “Neque enim quaero intelligere ut credam, sed credo ut intelligam” translated (mine)
“I don’t need to understand in order to believe but I believe in order to understand.”
A great strength of Catholicism Bob has ever been that reason and faith walk hand in hand in the search for truth.
