John James
Keep your eye on Republican John James who apparently had a hopeless race against Senator Debbie Stabenow (D.Mi.). He has cut her lead from twenty-three points to seven. A West Point grad and a combat veteran of Iraq, he is a wealthy business man who needn’t have bothered either fighting in Iraq or running for office. Pro-life and a sound conservative, he almost seems to have come from central casting to portray the ideal Republican candidate. Michigan has become a purple state of late, and although he still has a large hill to climb I am making this race my upset to watch for on election night.
He did a great job of old-fashioned retail politics to win the nomination. Instead of just focusing on the vote-rich Metro Detroit area, he went out to the sticks, visiting my humble rural home county of 38,000, among many others.
My wife and I watched the first Senate debate, too. He was a bit wobbly at first, but gained traction and did a solid job.
It’s still an uphill fight (Michigan hasn’t had a GOP senator since 1998) but at least it’s a fight.
Stabenow is Michigan’s Bob Casey, barely aware of her own existence until election time.

New blood is perfectly timed for Michigan. Sen. Peter’s and Sen. Stabenow are fully aware of a red push coming their way. Here in Traverse City, a love affair with Michael Moore is finally starting to sour. His legal team is making more $ than his loosing documentaries of recent. Ex-wife and Boston Light and Sound are looking for “the beef” so to speak. Boston L&S have been short changed..just like the ex.
Dementia and Democrats are synonymous.
That’s what I’m sensing up here in Northern Michigan.
Go Big John James! We are pulling for you!
Looks like James has a shot but the Hatetocrats led by the berserk abortion supporting female variety, chances are, will have the last word.
