Biden: Armed and Dangerous

Joe confuses the real world with the Lone Ranger episodes he watched 65 years ago when the Ranger would shoot guns out of the hands of the bad guy.

Other gun advice from Joe, this time for the fairer sex:

Contra Joe, the AR-15 was practically made for women:

Remember ladies shoot for the chest.  Easy to hit and will likely stop an intruder.  Legs are hard to hit, and men shot in one leg can keep advancing on you.  Don’t take chances against an adversary larger, stronger and faster than you, and don’t give them any breaks.

You come to a point in your life and you realize you don’t know much about anything outside your household and your job, and you tend to be quite circumspect commenting about things. This point arrives later for some than for others. Biden at his age doesn’t have many excuses (other than cognitive decline, of course).

A-As a child of the 70s who now watches a lot of those 50s shows because I don’t have cable I’m amazed at the marksmanship (snark) of all those old west gunslingers i.e. shooting the gun out of the adversaries hand without drawing blood.
B-I have limited gun knowledge, but don’t most shotgun owners prefer pump action shotguns which hold 5-6 rounds over 19th century double barrel shotguns?

I wonder if Biden understands his audience/constituency better perhaps than we do.

As in, the woman’s question wasn’t a logical or rational one requiring a logical or rational answer.

Anyone who votes for Biden is complicit in his stupidity!

Anyone who votes for Trump is complicit in his hate.

From their point of view.

It all just putting down markers for tribal allegiances and virtue signaling.

I’ll take hate over stupidity. It’s a lot less dangerous.

In Biden’s America, if somebody walks with a limp, he’s probably a cop killer.

I’m much more bothered by his approval of 8 year old transgenders. And he endorsed that for the same reason.

The real question was, Am I a good mother?

His answer was Yes, you are.

Because the Truth is too judgmental.

“[D]on’t most shotgun owners prefer pump action shotguns which hold 5-6 rounds over 19th century double barrel shotguns?”

I think most most people who own a shotgun specifically for home defense would want one with an extended magazine tube that would hold 6 or 7 shells, pump or semi-auto being a matter of taste.

But maybe that’s just me.

First thing I observed: Many of those girls/women were not holding the gun properly. Of course the gun is going to knock them over.
.
Having said that, I know very little about guns. I asked my son, a former boy scout (but with limited actual gun usage-we are not a hunting family) He said the double barrel shot gun was either for big animals (bear maybe?) or for home defense if you want to kill someone-“you’ll take their face off.” The bit about home defence surprised me, since he was critical of the need for a 9 mm bullet/pistol, though. Too powerful, too loud, and the walls will be damaged. With buck shot you don’t need to aim as well though. Perhaps that’s the attraction.

I amend my comments-rather hard to put the headstock to shoulder when there is no headstock.

Coupla, three, four things:

If it’s double barreled and its for big game, it’s probably an express rifle (Think Alan Quatermain, or Out of Africa). I suppose you could shoot a bear with a shotgun slug, but at shotgun ranges, that’s too sporting for me. But what do I know?

Actions (break, pump, lever, bolt, autoloading etc.)are largely an aesthetic or cost consideration.

The room-clearing, just point and pull the trigger and watch all the bad guys get blown away shotgun is a myth. At home defense distances, you still have to aim, and if you’re aiming at the face, you’re doing it wrong. Arguably a break action shotgun is easier to operate than a pump or an autoloader, and less likely to malfunction. The trade off is you only have two shots before you have to break it open and reload.

Any round that will stop a threat is going to go through walls.

Any firearm discharged indoors is going to be hearing damagingly loud. Another reason why suppressors shouldn’t be restricted.
