Beargrowls: Hard Truths

Our Bruin friend gives Catholics some hard truths in this year of punishment:

1. Francis is Pope.

2. Benedict is not.
3. Parsing B16’s resignation for secret clues refuting 1 and 2 is the new “Catholic Birther” movement.
4. Francis is Pope, but he’s a terrible, dangerous one. (Apparently, the Church can have those. Crap.)
5. The USCCB is full of terrible bishops, and there’s no shortage of lousy examples of clergy. (Ditto.)
6. The Catholic Church at this sliver of history does not publicly proclaim Christianity.
7. The Church is immanetizing the eschaton, having abandoned a supernatural perspective.
8. Francis, Vatican II, the homosexual clerical abuse crisis, etc. are symptoms, not the disease.
9. The BTSB (Bear Transportation Safety Board) has examined the crash and ruled it CFIT.*
10, We’ve been warned about Modernism a long time, but damned if we still didn’t run right into it.

Agree 100% with The Bear especially: “Parsing B16’s resignation for secret clues refuting 1 and 2 is the new “Catholic Birther” movement.”

The Bear is on the threshold of senior citizenry, and wishes Michael Dowd would take him under his wing to help him navigate the next 25+ years with the same aplomb he has.
