Something for the weekend, Going Home sung by Sissel Kyrkjebø. The music of the song was taken from Dvorak’s New World Symphony. The lyrics were written in 1922 by Dvorak’s pupil William Ames Fisher. My family and I are home. Vacations are nice, but home is ever the best.
Bonus:
Same title, different song, same sentiment:
Glad you made it back safely. Hope it was a restful and fun vacation for you and your family, Don. 🙂
Thank you, Cathy.
My thoughts and prayers exactly.
Beautiful renditions of the song ‘Going Home’. I must confess I had never heard these version before. When I was young, the version by Paul Robeson was very popular – I think around the late 1940’s into the 1950’s. Certainly, a male bass voice contrasts well with the soprano & contralto of the other 2 singers.
