At War With the Bill of Rights

Cops going after a mother for the “crime” of allowing her daughter to go play at a friend’s house.  You know, I would prefer to die a thousand deaths from a virus than see the type of trampling upon liberties that we have all witnessed in the past month.  The emergency powers granted to the State in this type of situation are being continually abused by power hungry politicians and their minions.  This will be the most dire of the legacies of this current debacle.  When sanity returns, quite a few people need to face criminal prosecutions for their actions in this time, and none of them should be a mom who has the temerity to allow her child to be a child.  Enough, more than enough.

Well, a judge has ruled Michigan’s stay-at-home order does not infringe on our Constitutional rights.

Paul Rahe quoted at Instapundit, “Thanks to the lady’s punitive instincts, her penchant for posing and preening before the cameras, and her desire that Joe Biden make her his running mate, we in Michigan are committing suicide for fear of death.”

Decades of pubic school brainwashing and university post-modern leftism have produced too many lemmings that embrace totalitarianism.

Hell, we’ve come a long way. Almost 2,000 years ago, they thought suicide was the only way out at Masada.

Massachusetts takes a lot of heat for being Massachusetts, but there is no idiocy like this here (at least none that I’m aware of.). We can go to hardware, garden and food stores, hire contractors for projects done around the house, visit people we know to be safe to visit or be visited – all with “social distancing”, masks and sanitizer. Wearing of masks is not enforced. Anyone who can work from home is. There are businesses shut down, but many are open. Maybe there’s still a little Lexington and Concord in the air as in “don’t tread on me” with any stupid rules, certainly we believe others will be responsible and smart enough to do the same.

At this stage of the game mass disobedience appears to be the right answer. There no scientific reason for the lock down. Are not our rights protected by the Constitution any more?.

Response to DH, there has been a separate lawsuit filed in U.S. District Ct, Western District MI, as of yesterday. It’ll be one to watch. Brought by a highly respected Detroit law firm on behalf of 5 Mich. businesses. I’m hoping others join as well.

This video of those cops really makes me mad.

I agree that the real problem is the unreasonable restrictions on things like kids playing together that these orders produce. But I want to focus on the actions and attitudes of these particular law enforcement officers …

These cops need to shove the hostile attitudes where the sun don’t shine. The hostility from these arrogant jerks really ticks me off. If they have an unsavory job to do (and, at best, this is “just following orders” and all that imagery brings to mind), the proper thing is for these officers should be to DE-ESCALATE, not ride in like Wyatt Earp at the OK Corral.

Badly done. Very badly done.

These cops/jerks were likely motivated by fear:
fear of their commander, who feared what the mayor might think, who feared what the governor might think,,, lastly just maybe somebody had some fear of the unknown virus even though – these two weren’t wearing masks were they.

The real question for me is who ratted her out to the police in the first place. One of her neighbors? This reminds me of the Stasi or of any of the Communist countries of the past or present (Russia, China, etc). Just for letting her daughter play with a friend in her own home, and vice versa? (Because evidently the other mother got reported and warned by the police) This is insane. Don’t the police have real criminals to catch?
