The last words of Saint Jaime Hilario Barbel to his firing squad. The soldiers then missed him with two volleys, probably intentionally, and then dropped their rifles and fled. The Saint was then murdered by pistol shots by the commanding officer of the Spanish Republican firing squad. The date was January 18, 1937.
