- Oh would some power the gift give us, To see ourselves as others see us.
- Robert Burns
The Pope told a group of newly appointed bishops something with which PopeWatch is in complete agreement:
“The world is tired of charming liars, and I might say, of ‘trendy’ priests or ‘trendy’ bishops. People can ‘smell’ it — the people of God have God’s nose. People can ‘smell’ it and they move away when they see narcissists, manipulators, defenders of their own causes, and bandits of vain crusades,”.
Go here to read the rest.

Narcissists – Jorge Bergoglio never misses a photo op with the poor and with tin pot Latin American dictators
.
Manipulators – Jorge Bergoglio, chief architect and manipulator of his own Synod on the Family and its results
.
Defenders of their own causes – Jorge Bergiglio, the defender a centralized Marxist Peronist world govt with the destruction of any free market economy.
.
Bandits of vain crusades – Jorge Bergoglio, the crusader against anthropogenic global warming no matter how much the evidence says it is a hoax.
.
The irony and hypocrisy of this man never ceases to amaze me. Pagan animalistic light shows on St Peter’s Basilica, authorization of communion for adulterers, promoter of world-wide central govt socialism. Georgius Bergoglius demovendus et anathemandus est! He isn’t the anti-Christ, but he is its spirit.
When our poor Pope asked the altar boy; “What’s the matter? Are your hands stuck together?” Well… I could smell something.
I could sense a trendy new age charmer. It didn’t sit well with me. Praying for Pope Francis while my hands are together is my offering to God.
Such a textbook example of projection. I wonder if any of the bishops
present were caught on camera rolling their eyes?
. He’s always denouncing someone else because he’s so verbally merciful. Gee….there’s nothing trendy about saying the fifth commandment forbids the death penalty…or that immigrants are not a danger. The man has stained three Sacraments until a future good Pope voids his placing the Church on the side of an erroneous conscience and on the side of subjectivity where God alone sees the truth….not clergy.
Another way of saying “projection is “one finger pointing at you means three pointing back at me”
I know a very good priest who says that I am simply misunderstanding the pope.
That is what confuses me. Very good priests say that there is a correct way to understand Assisi and I just don’t get it.
Having family members who are living with out communion because of divorce and second marriage, I want to embrace the “mercy”, but…
During homily not long ago people were encouraged to “come see me (Father) if you need and annulment- those are so easy now, just come, we’ll get you fixed up”
.
If I am misunderstanding the pope, is that by his design?
Anzlyne,
Priests have a vested interest in agreeing with Francis. If they dissent, they could lose their home, their salary, their prestige as priests…..for Christ. A priest suddenly becoming an Uber driver in an apartment in another city with no friends is a mighty awful temptation to obeying immoral orders rather than obeying canon 915…” Can. 915 Those who have been excommunicated or interdicted after the imposition or declaration of the penalty and OTHERS obstinately persevering in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to holy communion.”
The temptation to not lose all for Christ is mighty….not easy.
“I know a very good priest who says that I am simply misunderstanding the pope.”
Easy to do if someone is actually reading what the Pope said or wrote, rather than waiting for hopeful explanations seeking to twist what he said into some semblance of orthodoxy. The latter course seems to be the standard mode of operation of those Catholics, not liberals, who will not allow themselves to criticize the Pope. I am sure the good priest has no idea how much he is insulting your intelligence and your ability to read and think.
This statement from the pope proves once again the pot is sometimes right when it calls the kettle black.
I’m confused after reading his whole sermon: mercy, mercy, mercy – why doesn’t the Pope say Christ or Jesus or God instead of mercy or use “merciful” before the divine nouns? It’s like the Pope is an ad man and branding “mercy”. What’s with the trend of small case? It should be He, Him, His because our God is the God and not god.
This time the Pope sounds orthodox. Let’s see it in his actions.
“. . . the pot…when it calls the kettle black”.
.
Birds of a feather popped into my mind, but that’s a good one, too.
While the Pope is correct he also describing himself. As Ann Barnhardt would say this is the Pope displaying his diabolical narcissism.
It reminded Obama, he is always accusing someone of doing of what he always do.
Also, reminded Lula (former Brazilian president, under investigation by Brazilian justice because of huge case of corruption). He used to do the same as Obama.
