I have never understood this hatred for Jews, especially from traditionalist Catholics. Now yes, Pope Leo XIV shouldn’t have given Yom Kippur blessings inasmuch as the Christian Day of Atonement (if we may call it that) is now Good Friday. But that said, just let Jewish people worship as they please in peace. And if you interact with Jews, then be honest about Faith in Jesus, Son of David, the Messiah, the rightful and only King of Israel, but don’t be an arrogant a$$ about it. Listen to the Jewish person’s objections and reasons, and try to be a kind and decent human being without being a triumphal provincial overlord. A little humility goes a long way.
Some years ago an engineering co-worker [when I was working on the Economically Simplified Boiling Water Reactor (ESBWR) – anything but economic and simplified) at GE-Hitachi] was a Jewish apologist and an expert in Biblical Hebrew. We had lots of interesting discussions though we disagreed more often than not, and I learned a whole lot about the Torah and the entire Tanakh from him. Our other co-workers would look at the commentaries and Bibles on our desks and us arguing at lunch time and shake their heads. Sadly, that’s not allowed any longer. (Oh BTW, we never agreed about digital I&C engineering either, but that’s a different story for another day.) I truly miss those conversations and our disagreements – yes, happy times. He’s the reason why I now have an interlinear Hebrew Old Testament, and he was a damn good friend. Come on, Folks! If a foul-mouthed, judgmental submarine sailor like me can do it, then anyone can do it!

My snarky reaction would be to reprint anti Jew Nazi propaganda and hand it to one of the protestors asking “Did one of you drop this?”
This idea included in “good thing I’ve got a family so I don’t go get my self killed.” (It’s a long list.)

Well, many Jew haters ARE Christians. In fact, many are Catholic, adding a certain element of self-hatred to the mix. Then there’s the self-hating Jew.

A few weeks after the Massacre, my husband came home from KoC. Took one look at his face and said “Now what?” (admittedly a fairly routine question when he returns from these outing). He told me thar, after the meeting, he asked one of the officers, “Are we going to do something for Israel?” Dude stopped and gave him a puzzled look, then responded, “They killed Jesus!” and walked off. Still can’t get over it. Never imagined it. Sometimes now, I look at my friendly fellow parishioners and wonder, “Who else?”
