Agree with some of the above and disagree with other portions, especially the allegation as to the US Deep State, whatever that means in this context, the US bishops and cardinals playing a distinctly minor role at Vatican II. The simple truth is that most bishops would vote to require the Laity to paint their bottoms yellow if a pope supported such insanity. It took a brave man as a bishop to disagree with the type of years long papal push that inflicted Vatican II on the Church, and bishops are almost never selected on the basis of their moral courage.
