It’s very sad and scandalous
So much is going on in the world that one wouldn’t expect a comment from the Pope on aught but a few things. The trouble with Leo (and bishops generally) is that their personal interests and priorities (and those of the diocesan apparatchiks that have custody of their signature stamp) are manifest. Francis and Leo pretend that European publics are morally obligated to permit unrestricted colonization by Muslims (which includes providing material sustenance to them) and that Americans are obligated to do so in re Latin Americans. They pretend it is a matter of great moment that a reprobate who has had a personal trial and the legal help to launch decades of appeals is finally executed. They issue reflexive denunciations of the likes of Nicholas Sandmann because they actually despise the ordinary parishioners of their diocese (except as sources of donations).
