He referred to Leo as a “False Peter” who has separated himself from Christ and deserves to be expelled from the Church.

I doubt Leo is afraid. He has a set of attitudes you see among bubble dwellers and among NGO employees. He goes to the island of Lampedusa and strikes poses and never acknowledges that if you tramp through a half dozen countries to arrive in Italy, you’re not a refugee but a destination shopper. There are places in Africa suffering terribly, but resettling their populations in Europe is not an apposite response to their issues.
One of the best proofs that the church was founded by Christ. 2,000 years of clerics and in spite of them it’s still here.
Although Cardinal Arinze stated the Biafran war was not a religious war, one has to wonder if we would be seeing this today if Biafra had attained independence from NIgeria. But I’m largely ignorant of the issues in Nigeria which have a large and complex tribal component.
Seems to me that modernists refuse to acknowledge parts of reality that are unexplained by their philosophy.
Religious war belongs to that “graveyard of history” We are now “more advanced” Therefore it cannot exist – even when it does.

Modernists do not really acknowledge the importance of religion – any religion – as a supernatural imperative.
Religion as a cultural flavoring, yes. As an expression of the one universal ecumenical (“yet ultimately unknowable”) truth, yes. But not as a crucial issue that impacts one’s future beyond the borders of this short life. After all, Hell is likely empty and Tashlan is the ecumenical deity of choice.
It seems the only way Pope Leo XIV will speak out against Gov. Healy of Massachusetts is if she tries to reinstate the death penalty.

TBO, ultimately it doesn’t help the narrative, the storyline so to speak. Black African Muslims killing Black African Christians doesn’t help one lick in advancing any agendas or making the proper groups look bad. It might actually hurt. Why Church leadership goes along with this is anyone’s guess. But it does.
