You’ll recall Fr. Paul Shaughnessy’s notion of ‘sociological corruption’ wherein an institution lacks the capacity to reform itself. True of education at all levels. Republican legislators have done next to nothing when they could have done a great deal.
I haven’t viewed the video above yet, but let me boast a little; however, truth isn’t boasting: it’s just truth. As I have previously commented on different posts, I never attended college. All my training since high school is from the Navy’s nuclear propulsion program and the commercial nuclear power industry. I have, however, developed nuclear-related training courses and provided training to college degreed personnel for decades. In fact, I was teaching the reactor kinetics equations on my old submarine when I was barely 20 years old (I had a facility for that sort of thing). Subjects which I have taught over my career include reactor physics, heat transfer and fluid flow, metallurgy and brittle fracture mechanics, electrical and electronic theory, pressurized and boling water reactor plant systems, process instrumentation and controls, digital instrumentation and controls engineering, etc. I have occupied a variety of roles as well: digital radiation monitoring system engineer, digital design engineer, software quality assurance analyst, etc. I developed the entire digital instrumentation and controls program for several Nuclear Steam Supplier System (NSSS) companies as well as several nuclear power plants. My work has never failed an audit by the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Nothing that I do in my occupation can possibly be provided by “education” from today’s institutions of “higher” learning.
Oh, another thing: I cannot recount how many times college degreed engineers at work ask me to rewrite their reports or analyses because they cannot properly express themselves in written English. I thank God for a strong Latin teacher who instilled within me a sense of proper grammar and composition (nevertheless, forgive any typographical errors in this comment). And as a non-degreed person, yes, I still read Seneca and Cicero in the original Latin. In my daily morning status reports, I always include a quote from some famous Roman Stoic or Statesman as the meditation of the day. People are invariably surprised that nothing has changed in the human condition in 2000 plus years. But the ignorance of my readers about any history prior to their birth is most disconcerting. Not only don’t they know anything about ancient history or even the foundation of our Republic 250 years ago; they also don’t know anything about the great men of nuclear energy in the 20th century like Alvin Weinberg and Adm. Rickover (except of course for the Navy nukes; they know).
But in my boasting let me give glory to God. None of these things would have been possible without His grace, without Him saving me from my alcoholism and drug addiction and the worst of my bad behavior. I deserve none of the good things that God has done for me, and I damn sure am not any better than those whom I sometimes too readily criticize.

Reading the coda of your comment, I realized that the modernist lack of humility is part of the reason he ignores history, or (at best?) focuses on its errors and defects.
If a modernist had to acknowledge the excellence of people in the past, his idolization of the present is one step closer to being exposed for what it really is – a perpetual state of teenage rebellion based on the creed that “the old man don’t know nuthin”

I once bought a version of the life of Erasmus off of Amazon, and the entire book was this way, with no capital letters. Each sentence began with the lower case letter. I never realized how much we rely on them until trying to read an entire book without them. It was brutal.
I used it as white elephant gift at a Christmas party, so it worked out.
Teaching people how to think is education. Teaching people what to think is indoctrination. Indoctrination requires destroying the persons’ ability to imagine and create.

The death penalty, the temporal punishment for capital murder is a (501) 3c non-profit education in teaching a capital one murderer the experience of being killed.
To be an executioner of murderers, the executioner must accept the fact that using the power of attorney of the condemned entails acting “in persona murderer”.
The murderer brings himself to Justice through the executioner using his (the murderer’s) power of attorney.
All salvation works this way. The Son of Man uses man’s power of attorney to redeem man.
The Son of Man was forsaken by the Son of God at crucifixion. The Hypostatic Union was rent like the curtain in the temple. The temple curtain was several tons of gold. All nature was rent with the death of the Son of God. Nature had the integrity to acknowledge God.

Roe v. Wade denied the rational, immortal human soul, created by God and endowed to the newly begotten human being. Roe v. Wade is the imposition of atheism on America.
Created in the image and likeness of the Supreme Sovereign Being, the souls’ very existence acknowledges God.

Enclaves of Muslims in America practice Sharia Law, some from the court bench. This is America where all natural born citizens enjoy freedom; the freedom annunciate in our Founding Principles: The Declaration of Independence and our Constitution. Every naturalized citizen takes an oath to uphold the Law of the Land. Every elected individual takes and oath of office.
Individuals who refuse to uphold our Law of the Land, our Constitution, forfeit their citizenship and cannot claim any rights in America. They are to be deported. Owners of land in America who are not citizens and refuse our Constitution must be given their money back for our land and be deported.
Make America safe again.
Afore-giving and afore-givenness is actually giving it all up to God and receiving in return the grace and strength to act appropriately.
The man beat his wife. I wished God would strike him dead. Reconsidering, I wished his hand to wither and fall off.
God said that I could not even imagine what was in store for him. Then, I put it all in God’s hands and peace came. My heart was broken.
Several days later, I asked the woman if she had been beaten. She told me that her husband in frustration had slapped his own head.

The courts are useless in North Dakota as well.
Crucifixes were removed from Catholic hospitals to accommodate atheists, atheists who refuse to acknowledge our Declaration of Independence and “their Creator” and the “support of divine Providence”. Atheists enjoy God given freedom to destroy the freedom of all people. Removing the Ten Commandments has given rise to school bloodbaths. People must educate themselves in their civil rights inscribed in our Constitution. People who reject our Constitution must be deported.
