Fr. Pfleger has had another sexual misconduct claim filed. The Archdiocese has cleared him four previous times. The man is either abnormally unlucky in re with whom he crosses paths or the Archdiocese has set the evidence bar abnormally high in his case. (The current accuser alleges she was molested ca. 1994, so I would be skeptical).

Seem to recall a biblical passage about those who call evil good and call good evil. I doubt all of this will end well for either Fr. Massingale or the Catholic Theological Society.
Art Deco: I’m in Chicago and familiar with Father Pfleger. I am skeptical of these charges. Trust me, I am totally opposite Father on almost every level. He’s a grandstander with serious TDS. But he’s also walked into gang confrontations to deescalate the situation. Every time he’s accused, he’s investigated and cleared. Maybe he has friends in high places. Or maybe this is a money grab, as has so often happened with cops or priests accused of something and it’s easier to settle out of court even if the accusations are unfounded. As for the outcry of “Why does he get to stay at that parish when other priests have to be reassigned?”… there are no other priests who would willingly take that assignment. I wish that priests who have been cleared of charges would sue the accuser. Because the “believe all victims” narrative is simply untrue.
It would seem that by now Fr. Pfleger should consider that he might be in the wrong profession. It happens to many.
IIRC, Massingale was such a liability that even +R. Weakland eventually tossed him out (that is, “allowed” him to go to Fordham.) Adopting a “son” was the last straw.
