I have been hearing this on repeat almost weekly during our priest’s homilies – all about “welcoming the stranger” and not being racist against immigrants.
He even took “all you who labor and and are weary…” and turned it into a deal concerning immigration. Never a homily about the importance of the Eucharist.
The imported Muslims will take care of the LGBTQ+
the lavender mafia and Don are untethered from actual Teaching and have probably excommunicated themselves… expect more craziness
I’ve been reading through some of the historical books of the Old Testament, and I’m in the part where Absalom attempts a coup against king David. As David and his entourage are fleeing Jerusalem, there is a man named Ittai who was a Gittite, and thus a stranger and foreigner in David’s service. David tries to convince him to not accompany him since it’s not his fight and since David doesn’t know what the future holds for his reign, but Ittai replies:
“As the Lord lives, and as my lord the king lives, wherever my lord the king shall be, whether for death or for life, there also will your servant be.”
This is an example of what “welcoming the stranger” looks like from the reverse view in terms of assimilation, in that Ittai (who was an exile and thus an actual refugee) doesn’t come to David to suck off the teat of the State, but rather to serve him, even unto death, even when he was given a legitimate “out.” He takes the cause of the host nation as his own, and sees his loyalty as belonging to it primarily and not to himself or his former people and nation.
The immigration issue is a two-way street, and there needs to be far more (perhaps exclusive) emphasis on the immigrant and stranger having duties and responsibilities towards the host nation such as loyalty, assimilation, following its laws, etc. If someone is not willing to do these things, then they should not be “welcomed” as they do not truly desire to be “welcomed.”
They are arrested for hate speech if they do.
Compliance is mandatory
Maybe Pope Leo can explain (since he brought up the mantle of Our Lady) how Mary, Ever Virgin, is believed to be having intimate relations with Mohammed in Paradise. This is the “respect” shown the Blessed Mother.
Our Lady of Victory, pray for us.
What’s taking shape under the mantle of our Lady in Africa is not the harsh Catholic persecutions, rather the healings and rebuilding of families that have been slaughtered by the Islamic brotherhood… Boko Haram, for example. Our Lady is helping to heal the brokenhearted.
Strong Catholic Bishops from Africa are leading the way to call homosexuality what it is. A disorder. The act thereof intrinsically evil.
There’s much going on under Our Lady’s mantle in Africa. May the conversion of Islam be front and center. May she triumph indeed.
I would pay good money to see someone slip into the sycophantic press gaggle that follows the pope around actually ask him tough questions on this.
How about popes who are in over their heads and fools to boot, just resign. Real Catholics are tired of the last two jokes. American or not, Bobby needs to leave. I will pray for his and Frank, the anti pope, souls when they long gone and replacements have undone their dangerous leaderships. Make the Catholic Church catholic again. Migrants belong in their own cultures and not screwing up the rest of the world. We deserve better. Christ didnt die for this stupidity.
If I had to characterize public and institutional life, it consists of tiresome lectures delivered by people indifferent to the welfare of their audience (and completely clueless about it). It’s amazing how uniform this is across all sorts of venues and in all sorts of institutions. Now we have the Pope down in Lampedusa telling Europe they’re morally bound to submit to invaders.
I don’t think his choosing July 4th as the date to stage this event was an accident.
