Until the Civil War the American Revolution was the major event in American history. It established the nation and what we stand for as a people. The War lasted for eight years, and was desperately fought until Yorktown. Washington called it a standing miracle that the Americans emerged victorious and I completely agree with his statement. This nation was born in strife in an against the odds fight. It has left a mark on this country that will endure as long as there is a United States, and may that be until Judgment Day.

“King Philip’s War remains (one of the highest) per capita of any war in colonial or U.S. history. Philip’s warriors killed at least 5% of the colonists and burned around 1,200 homes. His forces attacked over half of southern New England’s 90 settlements, destroying 12 of them. “
