Wormwood isn’t the only nephew of Screwtape as evidenced above.
Humanity First?
A shirttail cousin possibly.
Unquestionably obedient to Christ our King is the most humane and loving response to the passion and resurrection of Jesus which opened the doors to Heaven. What a great God we believe in.
Nietzsche’s idea of morality comes straight from the serpent in Eden. We can never attain to be Übermensch unless we reject the “slave morality” of Christ as laid out in the Beattitudes, and embrace the “master morality” of the world … Pride, independence, strength … It’s a morality of the narcissist and it’s no wonder he went nuts chasing after this unobtainable lie.
To paraphrase Buddy Pine, “when everyone is Über, no one will be.”
Sounds like he was always struggling with insanity
At least he seemed interested the concept of original sin.
Most pulpits at this point ignore it in favor of the goal of a perfectable world during our lifetimes – oh, with Jesus’s help, of course.
Seem to recall that he described what today would be called a state of irrelevancy where little mattered and few cared. Acknowledge that is a sort of reductio ad absurdum but seems to fit.
Fittingly Nietzsche died insane.
