One wonders at this point what kind of Republican Catholic would even think of attending Notre Dame in the first place.
If you are Republican, they would seem too liberal. If you are Catholic, they would not seem very Catholic. 🤔
This is no slander, as Notre Dame has worked very hard to cultivate this reputation.

Dear clueless Notre Dame College Republicans:
The “viciousness” of the response was due to the flippancy of the very public announcement of their decision to commit murder. The number of chromosomes of the victim (at least for myself) barely entered into it … Truly, as unreliable as prenatal down syndrome screening is, there’s a pretty good chance the child they murdered was not a down syndrome baby. They openly (and proudly) affirm that they murdered their child because there was a chance that she might be burdensome. It’s sociopathic! There was a time, not too long ago, that even people who made such horrific decisions at least knew that publicly professing them would be monstrous.

There was a time when mothers that were threatened with their own death, if they continued onward with delivery of their baby, chose their own demise in order to give the child a chance at life. The Trust in God was heroic…that somehow her husband, or family, or in some cases strangers would step up and care for the child in her stead.
How the times have changed.
Cowardice is a virtue in today’s national organization of women.

DS kids are seen as less human and worthy of life. It’s not the truth but that doesn’t change the perception that some people are more equal than others and deserve life and others do not. By now many on this blog are aware of our 20 year old son,Hayden, and his positive effects on his family and others. Our family has a CPA, a MD, a graphic designer, a Marine, and a man who can’t tie his shoes. God gave us everything we needed to raise a family but saved the best for last.
Hayden gives us enterance to the “hidden city”. You know. The place for misfit kids who don’t know how to behave or act appropriately. They have no friends and their peers and adults shun them because of ignorance. We attend birthday parties for kids without friends. We share great stories of the little successes our kids do achieve. Special Olympics are our World Cup and Super Bowl. Any fool who aborts a DS kid deserves the “perfect” kid they seek. God will give them what they need and right where they deserve it. Ramming speed.
There’s a 31 year old daughter who has severe hydrocephalus: excess cerebrospinal fluid in the brain which has caused extreme skull enlargement (macrocephaly) and likely profound developmental and physical disabilities. Her mother has been caring for her all these years. This situation was posted on Twitter and I found it only because Donald had responded with the kindness typical of him:

I was shocked that so many responses said the daughter should have been aborted prior to birth or euthanized at the current time. Where has our mercy gone? And we have the unmitigated gall to ask God to be merciful to us! This is not going to end well for Western civilization. What God may let happen will make the Bronze Age Collapse in the 13th to 12th centuries BC pale in comparison.
