“I would have thought that Dancing Queen might have struck too close to home for some clerics at the Vatican.”
ZING! Or as Instapundit would say… Heh!
No comment. (needed)
What’s up? AC/DC wouldn’t give the permission to have the band use one of their crafty works?
🤔
Out of all the treasury of secular and religious music to process by???
Not suitable to the dignity of the office.
Once again, Vatican – do better!
This is our Pope. Really? Anything I have to say beyond that will get me censored. I am disgusted and revolted.
You nailed that one Don! LOL!
They are really making the SSPX look good. If not for my bride, who rejects the idea of driving 3 hours round trip to attend Sunday Mass, I would be there already.
Usquequo, Domine?
They shouldn’t be playing secular pop, but this is too stupid for me to get indignant over.
“What’s up? AC/DC wouldn’t give the permission to have the band use one of their crafty works?”
Like, maybe, Highway to Hell?
I believe there is a papal master of ceremonies. That person just gave the world a big stagey wink.
I think I agree with Pinky that it’s too stupid to get indignant over. But therein perhaps lies the problem, in that so much of everything is currently slathered in banality or stupidity, which evacuates all solemnity. We’re drowning in the trivialization and banalization of everything and are rarely given the chance to come up for air, even in the places one might expect such reprieves.
Once at Mass many years ago the priest went out of his way to mention how he was wearing his Star Wars socks (maybe it was May 4?) Did he intend any disrespect to the Mass? I doubt it. Was it a big deal? Probably not. Perhaps too trivial to mention? Probably. But that, I would argue, is the problem, for it seems to me that triviality never elevates anything, nor is it ever elevated by solemn things; it only drags them down into its own silliness.
ok, quick comment..
“there’s an acceleration of devolution occurring coincident with the excommunications of faithful.. and the welcoming of the unfaithful.. that should not be surprising it’s spiritual physics…”
not indignation, logic.
I have 5.02 Billions of reasons that THE LEADERSHIP of our Holy Catholic Church needs to straighten up and fly right.
For God sakes can we honor Our Lady in this Holy month of Our Mother, who’s heart is breaking bc over a Billion of poor people could of benefited from the Billions lost to a putrid lustful few who would applaud the music selection from yesterday.
What will it take?
The creator of Heaven and Earth knows what it will take. I doubt that HE gleefully smiles upon the choice of music when thousands of victims trust in the Holy…Holy Catholic Church have been shattered due to many wolves in sheep’s clothing. Dancing and whoring isn’t what the Angel of Peace told the three shepherd children of Fatima to do. No. The Angel said; “What are you doing?”
Recess is over. It’s time to grow up.

The Pope arrives with the band playing “Dancing Queen”
Did anything good come of this? No.
Was harm done? Yes
Was Fr. James Martin happy about this choice in music? Most certainly.
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
