Brings to mind the time at least a quarter century ago when I was stuck in a snow drift during a blizzard and a black gal and her three sons stopped and tried to help dig me out. We are all children of a loving God and sometimes He gives us a reminder of that.

I like this story, but I also caution that some judgment should be reserved for the cover – unlike a book which has zero choice in its composition and presentation, people make conscious decisions about their appearance and the projection thereof.
And I understand why – it’s a reminder of substance over style and hidden depths and all that, but let’s say there should be a 3:1 ratio of judging substance and appearance. The caveat being there will be exceptions in both directions.
