Better if the Pope had named him a Bishop in his native El Salvador. The idea that the Pope is an innocent in the war between himself and President Trump is an insult to our intelligence.
But Don’t Call the Pope Political

…..but whatever you do, don’t criticize autopen for his stance on slaughtering children in the womb.
Nor his little brush with confusion. Oh no, He’s a good Catholic Joe… he’ll be the first to tell you.
Deport him.
Church Doctrine hasn’t changed on the right of countries to exist, and neither have holy orders being only for men or blessings of couples being only for marriage.
It’s all “pastoral” sniping at doctrine… passive aggression… like what a woman or a homosexual might do. The claim is pastoral but it’s not.
This is a slap in the face to our country!
I have a hunch where a large chunk of the Diocesan appeal money will be going …
We can’t deport. He had a green card and is now a US citizen. Hopefully, he did so honestly – as we know, many do not.
More troubling is this quote in the Washington Post article above, from a letter he wrote in his capacity as a priest to the National Catholic Reporter
“To those of you who are silent or think this does not involve you, to those of you who are not troubled by this — or worse, who applaud it — particularly those who are Catholic, I ask you: Do you not see the suffering of your neighbors?” he wrote. “Do you not realize the pain and misery and very real fear and anxiety these unjust government operations and policies are causing? Is your conscience not disturbed? How can you stay quiet?”
He worked under and with Wilton in DC.
Robert Prevost is Jorge Bergoglio revisited.
The Wheeling Diocese, encompassing all of West Virginia, is a state that overwhelmingly voted for Trump. A substantial number of West Virginia Catholics are in the Northern Panhandle, culturally and economically tied to Ohio and Pennsylvania and also regions that voted for Trump.
Yammering about immigration to West Virginians is going to be a colossal failure. Whoever recommended this bishop…and why is he a bishop in the first place?….to lead THIS Diocese is lunacy.
The Pittsburgh Diocese, despite not being an archdiocese, usually has some input into who runs it’s neighbors (Greensburg, Youngstown, Steubenville and Wheeling), the farthest being only an hour away. Well, not this time
¡Lio! appointed a Dominican priest (serving a parish in Queens) as the Bishop of the Diocese of Palm Beach (Mara Lago) … He has quite a lot to say about President Trump and the supposed constitutionality of his immigration policies.
I haven’t heard whether Bishop Rodriguez came here legally or not.
So tell me: why is Pope Bob from Chicago so brave in going against President Trump, but so docile in agreeing to what Chairman Xi Jinping wants? I think he better watch out because goading Trump will result in nothing good. Maybe some FBI investigations into clerical sex and financial abuses, and CIA investigations into Church financial corruption internationally are in order. And I am sure that there are some skeletons in Pope Bob’s closet that need to see the light of day.
LQC, we already know that then Cardinal Prevost deleted his Twitter account containing left wing political views. We saw the picture of Fr. Prevost at the nuclear freeze protest.
He has been out of the US for so long that he is out of touch with the majority of American churchgoing Catholics. Rorate Caeli warned us that, when we got a new Pope, he could be better, or the same, or worse.
Illegal immigration is popular with the Democrat Party and the USCCB and nobody else. The SSPX will be condemned in numerous quarters, but not the Chinese Communists or the Iranian Revolutionary Guard or the Mexican cartels.
Pope Leo ought to have the wisdom to listen to Cardinal Burke and act positively upon it…but that hasn’t happened and likely won’t.
Pope Leo certainly isn’t innocent. But he’s sly enough to not to attack Trump directly. He knew Trump was going to react the way he did a while back. The desire to retaliate, along with flattery, is Trump’s kryptonite. American churchmen are among the worst anti-Americans.

Despite their self identifying as “super-geniuses” (in the style of Wile E. Coyote), the more troublesome churchmen are intellectual gnats compared to the men of a century ago that they consistently try to overwrite.
I trust that God will not let Acme Rocket Roller Skates prevail against His Church.
What happened to “Render unto Caesar etc”?
Damn right.
LeoXIV loves politics and socialism.
Developing into a Brogoglio mini-me.
Mini?
I wonder if that is how it will seem by Christmas…
