Yeah, don’t seem to remember any such attempts. They would have been front page news for weeks, if not months. The media would have been wringing their hands incessantly about weaponry and how to restrict the citizenry from acquisition thereof.
Now? 48 hours and *poof* gone. Or gaslighting takes place. Or both.
With a notable exception of John Kennedy who would probably be a republican today, most of those “assassination attempts” against Democrats were nasty words that never matured into action. Somehow, they all got caught before any significant action matured into a real act of violence. Shocking, I know.
If you want to use nasty words as an assassination attempt, just turn on any evening news program. Or listen to any Democrat in Congress. The ones that mature into real violence are typically against Republican presidents.

If you read “Ask Not: The Kennedys and the Women They Destroyed,” by Maureen Callahan, you may not want to claim John Kennedy as a Republican. He can credibly be called a rapist.
