100% Army helo pilots are a breed apart. Fr. Daly baptized one of my sons and, in retirement, said mass at our parish.

It seems that Army helicopter pilots are the kind of men who, if so ordered, will fly straight into hell if necessary to do whatever needs to be done regardless the cost to their personal safety.
Speaking of pilots….and not to take anything away from Warrant Officer Slover, who richly deserved his honor…. but I just have to share an entry in the “things you find on the internet” category:
Apollo 13 astronauts Jim Lovell, Jack Swigert and Fred Haise appear on the Johnny Carson Tonight Show on June 3, 1970. It’s an entertaining and informative interview, with just the right blend of humor and seriousness, and great back and forth between Johnny and the guests. It even includes a “home movie” made by the astronauts as they prepared to return to Earth.

Jim Lovell is a devout Catholic. With the Pope praying for his safe return, Jim Lovell returned.
