Can confirm. I worked construction jobs during the summers to put myself through college. (This was back when college was still reasonably priced). Maybe there are blue-collar leftists somewhere out there, but I never worked with one. However, at my alma mater the sort of leftist poseurs Sir Roger Scruton described above were as common as pig tracks.
This is one type of leftist. Usually but not always young. Usually but not always employed outside the commercial / industrial sectors. There are other sorts who are confused sentimentalists or have an insuperable desire to scold people or look down on them (distinct from the spoiled child type, but overlapping). Every once in a while you locate a serious wonk who works the left side of the street. Mark Kleiman has died but Harold Pollack is still around.
Spoiled, rich brats must keep the law. The law specifically allows only “peaceable assembly. When they are punished the brats will blame everyone but themselves.
