As Rome makes demands inconsistent with 2000 years of: Magisterium, Tradition and Scripture in the name of “obedience”… handpicked Bishops are acting as totalitarians themselves.

Do as “I” say…
Do as “I” say…
(shrug) no thanks says the layperson

It’s like a scene from the movie “Holes” where I think the dog runs away.

The guy’s arrogance abounds, although he’s acting “on brand,” as they say. I think he’s convinced it’s the delivery not the message that’s causing the problem. So he bypasses the priests who are “thwarting his reform.”

Pretty sure “missionary disciple” is another stupid buzzword learned at USCCB reeducation camp.

Heard this worthless nebulosity in my diocese too.

These bishops and the Vatican want to launch a major sales campaign for their product, insisting that New Coke is loved by everybody who drinks it properly. Meanwhile, their quality control is so poor that you never even know what each can of New Coke will taste like – except that it will certainly not taste like actual Coke, which was inferior and likely bad for you.

Each priest in the diocese, out of obedience to their Bishop and the oath they took upon their ordination, should play this video at every Mass this weekend … on an iPhone resting on the floor against the ambo, with the sound turned off.

Obedience, after all, is a virtue 😉

How far from the world of the Acts of the Apostles we’ve come. The corporate culture of the USCCB is the dullest kind of evangelization known to mankind. To think, the consultant who came up with this, his firm probably made well into six figures for these “insights.”

Below is Bishop Martin’s talk…
Is it me or is the theme riddled though this(?): 1-you’re not the disciples you should be, 2-look in the mirror, 3-things aren’t the way they should be since V2 (and it’s all your fault… )

Perhaps this is a step of realization the Bishop will need to go though (with everyone in tow.. ) until he allows kneelers..

I agree with David WS. I took the step-daughter and granddaughters to Mass this morning and with all the other congregants, endured the Bishop’s video recorded speech. The video playback stalled multiple times, making the whole episode longer than it needed to be. As far as I am concerned, Vatican II is the reason for heterodox clerics like this bishop. Glancing at some of the faces in the congregation, I suspect that I am not alone in thinking such thoughts.

LQC,
There’s going to be more of this. The Ponzi scheme of illegal immigration has ended. Up until now that’s kept the closing of parishes and dearth of vocations at bay. These are proud men of the lavender mafia, with no small ego.

“V2 hasn’t been tried – and it’s all your fault!” Will be the new mantra.

Except that there are now plenty of us available to point fingers back. There was no internet in the 60s. The benefit of the doubt, abundant then, has been squandered.
Additionally, most of us see a bishop as a) someone who begs money b) someone who closes parishes c) someone who hassles my good priest d) someone who winks at the bad priest e) all of the above.
Physician, heal thyself.

Pope Francis said “Proselytizing ” is bad. Now the Faithful are bad missionary disciples, who are neglectful of evangelizing.
I turned the other cheek and I got hit on the other cheek. Now what? Cause for insanity.
