It’s also said that the beatification Mass c/would take place outside of Peoria. I hope they are thinking of the St Louis archdiocese where large venues exist eg Busch Stadium. Besides, Peoria seemed to have more Cards fans than Chicago Cubs fans when I lived there.

I hope it happens, but I will believe it when I see it. What a missed opportunity for Pope Leo to connect with American Catholics, ideal time to address America on the dangers of communism and being true to Catholicism. Might be for the best though, I have a feeling that President Trump would have been there, and Archbishop Sheen would have been lost in the politics of the situation.
Sheen is in good company. The religious leaders of his day disparaged Christ. Sheen is just walking in his footsteps.
The beautification mass should take place in Peoria. We have a large convention center, a baseball and a football stadium. He’s from the diocese of Peoria, so his mass should take place here.
