Mr. Railrider would appear to be a resident of London and favors one of the leftoid parties in Britain.
The social imagination of leftists sees the world as a public school. They’re the teachers and administrators, the rest of us are the pupils. Dissent from their various schemes is conceptualized in their minds as classroom disruption. All the things of which they do not approve are understood as violations of their rules and challenges to their authority. You’ll notice teachers and administrators don’t have much respect for parents but can be readily intimidated by irate black mothers.

You’ll also notice that the level of public order in deep blue municipalities is wretched. Their politicians and judges and officialdom are not solely responsible for that, but they follow courses of action which make things worse than they would otherwise be. Ditto the officials of blue states. The whole gun control rhetorical game is meant to stick the bill for their negligence with social sectors they despise (e.g. small town and rural gun owners). You remember when an irate Mario Cuomo described opponents of some measure he was pushing as ‘NRA hunters who drink beer, don’t vote, and lie to their wives about where they’ve been all weekend’? That’s the mentality.
If Railrider was intellectually honest, he/ she would ask questions about why it doesn’t get reported.
I’m not willing to assign ill will to Railrider on the basis of this comment.
They are likely as ill-informed as the portion of the US that consumes only mainstream news.
Plenty of *Americans* are convinced that good guy with a gun doesn’t happen.

The Left are that annoying sort of teacher who (1) sees their duty to “form for reform” rather than instruct in grammar, long division or chemistry and (2) regards their authority as a badge earned by their superior brans and efforts rather than a practical tool granted them to keep order while instructing in grammar, long division or chemistry.
I never offered political or social comments, except (in Religion class) where Catholic social teaching required it, and then I did my best to “stay in the lines” of Tradition. But if you despise Tradition (as Leftists do) there are no “lines” and therefore no limits to what you can attempt – or demand.
