Just last night I was trying to explain to my young daughter why there might be unburied bodies during a plague. As gently as I could, I told her that the sick might have died alone because the other people fled, for fear of catching the plague . She replied that she didn’t think she would do that, even if it meant that she would die too.
I pray daily that her heart stays just this way as she gets older.
