Jesuits need to go boldly where no man has gone before.
Pope Leo is reminding Jesuits of their mission. The Church has some Jesuits who know and fulfill their mission.
However these Jesuits are not in the America Magazine.
Jesus says something about the individuals who take the first place in the temple and at ceremonies.
You’ll recall Fr. Shaughnessy’s remark that a restoration of ascetical practice would assist in reducing the amount of unchaste behavior in the Church. I have a suspicion the Society of Jesus is now made up of the sort who love bedroom slippers with fuzzy linings. Don’t think you’ll be catching them in Amazonia.
LQC – I might actually consider a jaunt to Mars, then. At least I would have the Mass and the Sacraments while there, the lack of which is a deal breaker for me.
It’s a real shame about the Jesuits. They founded many institutions in the west and abroad such as hospitals, universities, schools, libraries…
Is thst James Martin standing in the second row, middle? Always front and centre and making it known.
