Recall, Folks, that a few months ago in another open thread I talked about my assignment to develop a technology control plan on artificial intelligence for my employer, “Neutrons ‘R Us,” and I described how our recently inducted corporate chief legal counsel (a very senior executive) rejected it because it was “too complicated and too cumbersome” (i.e., it was regulatorily compliant). Well, this person tendered his resignation after having been with us three or so months, and is leaving the company around the middle of this month. I should be surprised, but I am not. Next year I will have been working in nuclear energy for a half century (if God allows me to live that long and keeps me employed). I have seen such executives come and go, riding the wave of nuclear profiteering and bailing out with a golden parachute. But never in all that time has anyone challenged me about regulatory compliance (because after all, as my wife repeatedly points out, I am an a$$h01e). Indeed, in the nuclear Navy (and certainly in Pete Hegseth’s Navy), such idiocy would not be tolerated. So yes, thank you, Holy Mother of God, for interceding for me even when I may not know it, and thank you, Lord Jesus, for guiding my steps and protecting my employment.

Unborn children of citizens are persons created by God and acknowledged by the state in the 14th Amendment .Yes
But unborn children of illegal invaders cannot be tried or acknowledged by our laws, including the U.S. Constitution. The unborn children of illegal invaders are citizens of the country their parents came from as our unborn children of citizens overseas are citizens of the country of their parents. In this case, the United States.
There is no harm in deporting illegal invaders who cut the line and refuse to obey the laws of asylum, that is, the very first country they get to before the U.S.

LQC. Well, the guy was a lawyer. And I say this as a person that’s been a lawyer for so long that the state of Texas no longer charges me dues.

As Don demonstrates, a few of us fight the tendency to go full leftist crazy but it’s a pretty small minority.
LKL, I have that same privilege with the Texas Bar. But I’m not yet old enough to escape having to answer a jury duty summons, thanks to the Legislature having bumped the exemption age from 70 to 75 in the very year before my 70th birthday. Bums!
The reference to the possibly inadvertent slip of the pen, so to speak, in the latest chapter of judges cosplaying the role of POTUS, and admitting that preborn babies are, in fact, babies, reminds me of the point I keep making with my non-lawyer friends, who have been saying all along that Trump should just ignore the obviously wrong rulings, which is about 75 percent of them. I keep counseling patience, because nearly every one of these rogue rulings will eventually be overruled, if not by the Courts of Appeals, then at SCOTUS. My reasoning is simple: the minute Trump says we are going to ignore a court ruling, the Left has won, because it will once and for all destroy the effectiveness of the Federal court system when Presidents from both parties simply ignore court rulings they don’t believe are right, or they just don’t like. I know Biden and Obama both did it, and not rarely, but the majority of the people, by all valid accounts, (i.e., Trafalgar or Rasmussen), still believe the rule of law is essential, and they are right. Screwing that up is the one thing I can think of, right now at least, that would cost the GOP the midterms, despite the foolishness of the Democrats since Trump’s re-election. Too many would stay home or even vote Dem if we give up and descend to their level. We must stay patient and do everything we can, each of us, to ensure the GOP holds both sides of Congress next year. Then much more can be done with legislation.
Given recent events and characters… I’m resigned to the fact that the episcopacy is in very sad shape. It’s endemic and will only be resolved in God’s time.
