Oh. What a human. That’s inspiring. Our youth need to be told these stories.

I’ve often thought that is one of the reasons for our societal schizophrenia we see today. We’re constantly told to put ourselves first, we come first, it should be about us before anyone else. Which is an appealing thing to believe. Yet in our guts, we don’t believe a lick of it. Because when stories like this, or other stories of sacrifice for others emerge, the general response is one of admiration and celebration for the ones who, by definition, didn’t put themselves first.

He was tirelessly working in the vineyard when the vineyard owner came home.

I pray that I have that selfless heart and courageous spirit, working hard for Him who loves us so much, giving everything to us, so that we can truly live. What a vineyard owner.
