When Will the Pope Be Giving a Private Audience to Satan?

Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.

Pope Leo came out with a few orthodox things, then a few days later meets with Fr. Martin and Sister Caram, posing for photo opportunities. Francis light? Yeah, time will tell. And I think it is telling us something. My opinion? The Institutional Church is infected and infested with godless liberal progressivism, and only extreme “chemotherapy and radiation treatments after radical surgery” can restore health. This is all from Vatican Council II, which has proven to be a disaster.
Our Lady of Sorrows….pray for us and thy Son’s Holy Church.
Think the present pope is in interested in quiet operations, not upsetting people and restoring a sense of stability… to counteract Francine damage.
However if he does not fire a large number of Vatican personnel I fear he’ll have none of that. (These are the people in place with Francis and the ones that caused Benedict to resign!)
I’ll need to hear the media howl on how cruel the new pope is for letting people go…before my trust level increases.
People is policy. Last week there were seven appointments, only two were considered “decent” by several commentators. We have a Francis 2. It will get worse.
She is pro-gay “marriage” and has said some pretty awful statements about Our Lady and her virginity. And she is of Lebanese origin (presumably Maronite). So it’s quite embarrassing she sprouts the words she does.
The Pope needs a pack of good Cardinals in his corner. And a miracle. Lots to clean up and not enough people to do it.
None of us have a clue what Pope Francis said in any of these encounters, only some generic Fr. Martin bs, to cover himself in glory, which doesn’t mean too much. I prefer not to look with suspicion on everything in the Catholic Church. A lot people have other views on the matter, so be it.
These meetings and the continued winking, if not approval of sins that cry out for vengeance, brings me to tears. While we may have a man who smiles, who may not get into screaming tantrums or call people names or slap hands, he seems to be–so very sad and disappointing–a Francis 2.0. The persecution of the faithful continues from within.
It’s hard to say how this should be taken. I am starting to think Leo prefers to keep silent about much. I’m not surprised that the heterodox Fr Martin came out of his meeting declaring victory; publicity hound that he is. But it may be with Sr. Caram that she received a different message from his Holiness and that she’d rather not say what was said.
“My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline, or be weary of his reproof, for the Lord reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.”
Proverbs 3:11-12
Thank you Bill.
I do like your train of thought.
I tend to be very overly optimistic when it to Holy snippets found on the net.
How do we know they met?
We know they met because the Vatican issued the photo of them meeting, with the Vatican watermark on the photo.
My alarm bells have been ringing for a while now.
Some excellent Christocentric teaching, clear and solid, unlike his predecessor. And no interview festivals.
But largely-awful personnel decisions seem to be continuing, and that is policy. The progressives are running the show, and until he pushes back in a governing way, the trajectory will continue.
Gavin Ashenden has a pretty good post over at his substack about this which provides insight into how the optics of these things work, partially based on his own experience. (It’s paywalled, but you can get much of the gist from the preview.)

That being said, I think that the whole “pope giving audiences” has gotten way out of hand, as it feeds into the very things Gavin mentions, whether the current papal occupant desires it or not for any particular meeting. After all, given how many he does, it would be difficult, if not impossible to provide the “correct” interpretation for each meeting following every meeting or to respond to the spin any particular participant gives it.
I think that there needs to be a substantial ratcheting down of the papal celebrity aura, part of which needs to be a significant curtailing of these sorts of things. Not only does it unnecessarily give de facto imprimaturs to everyone who visits, but I cannot fathom the amount of time it sucks up. I’m guessing these are generally planned well in advance, and potentially by many different people, which then sort of handcuffs the pontiff to a schedule that may not even be of his own making. Whether this is how it should be then isn’t even the main question, but then comes down to who is scheduling who, how far down the chain the decisions were made and when, etc., which leads to a quagmire of bureaucratic whack-a-mole.
I often wonder how much many of these sorts of things are simply institutional inertia, which doesn’t necessarily excuse them, but perhaps explains them to some extent.
Agree with Bill. The Pope had the freedom to say what he felt appropriate to the circumstances without a lot of commentators buzzing about public comments. One hopes the Fr. Martin got the real message but I rather imagine his own views are unchanged.
There is absolutely no verifiable evidence that Sister Lucía Caram is a biological male wearing a nun’s habit!
Honestly, I don’t know how these rumors get started!

“Can anything good come from Nazareth?”
This same question have been on my mind since Pope Leo XIV was elected : “Can anything good come from Chicago?”
Saint Philip told Saint Nathaniel to “come and see.” He went and declared JESUS to be the Son of GOD.
I have heard many say concerning Pope Leo XIV; let’s wait and see.
I’ve waited since then to see who and what this new Pope would be.
He seems rather gentle and amiable and knowledgeable. He keeps saying the right things that many of us longed to hear.
However , what he does shines much brighter than his words. His appointments and especially these recent audiences. These are nothing less than scandalous. It is a slap in the face of all who were hoping for a change. We got a change; from the radical Pope Francis, to a more subtle, gentle, loving embrace of evil and those who promote these intrinsic evil. This makes him more dangerous to the faith of “the little ones” and to those who love and embrace “the fullness of Truth.”
We have to be prepared for great persecution from within the Church and especially from the Hierarchy.
Just after the tragedy in Minnesota he is publicly photographed with this heretic Jesuit, smiling and giving support for the evil he is promoting. He did the same with a member of the German clergy, a dissident Bishop who publicly rejects Catholic Moral Doctrines.
Now if this is not scandalous, I don’t know what is. He seems to be serving “two masters”, those who elected him to the Papacy and JESUS CHRIST the “Head of the Church”, and our GOD AND ONLY SAVIOUR, whose “Deposit of Faith” he is obligated to defend and promote.
Surprisingly, Cardinal Burke, Cardinal Sara, Cardinal Muller, Bishop Schneider and Bishop Strickland are all mute.
I don’t think much of this Pope.
Ecclesiastical Masonry has really done a number on Christs Bride.
