Blue state high schools routinely build million dollar sport stadiums, forbid any teacher from being armed, and will not spend $100K? to harden the HS against an intruder.

I see Deacon Greydanus has come out swinging against the appeal to thoughts and prayers after tragedies like this. He even linked to something Pope Leo retweeted some years ago suggesting he also agrees the only solution is gun control and not some vague appeal to thoughts and prayers. I certainly hope that’s not the case.
Ah, the non-awaited return of Professor Maximum Beans. He’s as convincing as ever. 😂 He blocked me on Twittter for calling him that, BTW. Typical snowflake lefty.
One week ago, I was in Toronto (Ontario, not Ohio). My oldest son found a cosmetic dentist to place veneers on his teeth for a reasonable cost.
There were two murders in suburban Toronto. An 8 year old in Brantford was shot while sleeping in bed. A man was shot in a restroom in Scarborough.
It is hard to own a legal handgun in Canada. Yet, gun bans don’t stop those who want to commit crimes. This is something gun grabbers either fail to understand, or they understand it just fine and don’t care.
England has no guns. Self defense has been banned from the courts.
Murder by knives has quadrupled.
Leftists want to tyrannize the world. Put y’all in the gulag.

Greydanus reminds me of the witless television dialogue Ray Bradbury describes in Fahrenheit 451. Character #1: “Something must be done!” Character # 2: “Yes, something must be done.” Character #3: “Oh, I’m so mad I could spit.”. .

What’s ‘meaningful action’ to Greydanus? If he’s like the rest of them, it means mass confiscation of the property of tens of millions of people who go about their business causing no one any trouble.

Hale: a clutch of mental health tradesmen who collectively accomplished nothing over a period measured in decades.

The whole point is to strike poses, injure people you despise, and prevent your pets from being held accountable. Effective improvements in law and order are not a priority.

A papal bull by Leo the XIV to enact canon 912 in order to save the lives of innocent human beings in the wombs of their mothers. No communion for those who support the killing of innocent children via abortion on demand. No communion for Catholic politicians, Catholic abortionist and Catholic late night talking heads. Zero tolerance until one brings himself to reconciliation and with contrite heart confesses his sins against God and neighbor…..and “stuff like that.”
Even if the pope should declare the second amendment evil, in contradiction of the firmly established Catholic principle of self defense, he is *one vote* in the republic. He should have as much direct effect on this as what date the income tax should be due or whether there should be an extension of the municipal sewers.

Obviously not bringing up the issue of the shooter’s transgender identity. A couple individuals brought that up on his facebook post and he deleted their comments because he said it’s “inappropriate, especially given that a tiny, much-despised minority will suffer even more by unjust association with this terrible crime.”
The ghoulish behavior that follows horrific crime is as predictable as metronome. And maims the soul in its twisted self-righteousness.

I do NOT advocate the initiation of force. But the way to deal with radical Muslims raping women in Great Britain and transgender sex perverts murdering school children in the United States is via the right to keep and bear arms (which sadly the UK does NOT have but happily the US does have).

The challenge of the “trans” crazies and Raging Ragheads is that neither seem afraid to die. I know no method of stopping a suicidal madman than to oblige him.

Open carry laws say: “You may die trying to kill me.” The State of Delaware, the First State has open carry laws. Deterrence.
If you go to literally any online trans community you will see people saying “kill all cis people.” On many of their communities, you will see people saying that in comments directly responding to this shooting.
Now not every one of them says this. But the ones that do are not condemned by the others. Any pushback against such language would be seen as “anti-trans.”
There is absolutely no policing of violent thoughts in those communities. If anything, they are encouraged. People like SDG who forbid discussion of these issues only enable the worst of them.
As an addendum: Some might observe that “kill all cis people” is sometimes met with the response “don’t say that, it’s bad optics and will make things worse.” This is true, but it’s hardly real pushback. It’s not like a criminal who says “hey, don’t post our plans for robbing banks online because the feds might see them” is anti-bank robbing.
Tom, not to beat a dead horse, but it’s worse than I thought. He not only has hunkered down on prayers being worthless without conforming to leftwing activism, he has justified it by saying those who don’t align with the Left can be judged as guilty of the worst. He then has argued that those who align with the Left, even if they openly advocate for any grave evil like abortion, must not be judged but we should see the good and assume best faith. Not because of their own faith walk, but purely on their alliance to proper political activism. I’ve never seen it done so flagrantly. And he being a prominent Catholic deacon to boot.
