President Trump has an excellent relationship with the newly elected President of Poland. Poland is the current effective check on Russian ambitions beyond the borders of the old Soviet Union. Former great powers like France, Germany and Great Britain are all talk and little else.
“Former great powers like France, Germany and Great Britain are all talk and little else.”
Not true. They’re quite busy dismantling their cultural heritage by importing Muslim hordes, suppressing the basic human rights of their citizens, and ensuring that Christianity is erased from their public life.
Have known a few army officers and they’ve all have said the same thing;
“Poland is bad a$$.”
My favorite “Pole” story;
in Jasna Gora are in accord with this description, they contain, among others, the following facts: “Miller observed with great attention, here in the church, the picture of Our Lady of Czestochowa, and since his interpreter asked us to give him a small copy of the image, we gave it to him, and Miller took it from his hands. Thus it became clear to us that Miller wanted to find out if the vision he had at night was similar to the picture.”
The same religious of Piotrkow later told the Most Rev. Provincial (under whose jurisdiction is also the convent of Czestochowa), that Miller, after he took the picture from the hands of the interpreter, said the following: “It is absolutely not comparable to that virgin who appeared to me; for it is not possible to see anything comparable on earth. Something of the celestial and divine, which frightened me from the beginning, shone in her face.”
I return to the letter: “The Swedes themselves affirmed, that some of them saw a Lady on the walls, pointing the cannons and furnishing with her own hands, the necessary arms to the defenders who were in the trenches; and to those who were tunneling in the rock (the mount is based on a rock, and the Swedes were excavating tunnels toward the walls) toward the walls there appeared a venerable old man, who counseled them to give up their useless labor, for not even in seven years would they manage to carry it out. Crushed then by these apparitions, they gave up the siege.” This was also heard from the Swedes by Sir Aleksy Sztrzalkowski, who told it to the monks, on his word of honor.”
Great Story: Our Lady of Deliverance, Empress of China
“Lady Jadwiga Jaroszewsha also told that she saw the figure of a venerable old man, who encouraged her with the hope that God would in brief manifest His mercy, and the enemy would raise the siege of Jasna Gora. In that vision, a friar (who called her by the name), in a white habit, celebrated Mass at an altar located in a corner to the right, on the east side of the Church. We could not consider the old man as any other than St. Paul (the first hermit and our Patriarch), to whose honor this altar is consecrated. Sirs Jan Wiechowski and Maciej Wegierski of the Polish nobility, testified that they had heard the Swedes telling how they had seen an old man beside a Lady, who appeared on the walls and beat back the Swedish projectiles.”

I suspect that’s overstated.

When you look at one country after another, you see an astonishingly low inventory of prison and jail cells and stupefying laxity on the part of police and courts. It’s this mentality that prevents them from controlling their borders. In 1992, the Prime Minister of France (Edith Cresson) issued some scathing remarks about illegal immigration. It’s been an issue for a long time, but their political class persists in doing nothing about it.
This is also the best way to get rid of a lot of Catholic young men from Europe, by using Poland as your army.

Poland’s Independence was hard fought and did not just happen in 1989. The Civic Platform rules by coalition and the PM is Donald Tusk, a EUnuch if there ever was.
Philip N. , thank you for the link to the Siege of Czestochowa. Long read but worth it.
“The Poles know the Russians all too well.” Amen
As a person of 57% Finnish descent, we also know the Russians all too well. My maternal grandfather always told my mom and my siblings never to trust them.
My grandmother, Rhineland-Palatinate (she never recognized the forced Prussian unification), always told my father that Russians were barbarians. She lived until 1942 and never changed her opinion after two wars. She would be even less pleased with a semi-supine Germany of today.
I have long admired the Polish Spirit. Poles will bicker and argue with each other and hold gruges like nobody’s business, but when things are bad and the chips are down, Poles will do the right thing without regard to chances of success or recognition from others. The Polish Army that took on the Waffen SS at the Falaise Gap is one of many examples.
Your welcome CAM.
We live in Cedar Michigan.
A Polish village near Traverse City.
Our Church is filled with beautiful Polish people. I help make desserts for different seasons and one such pastry is called Pączki. A fat Tuesday treat. Polish Chicken is out of this world. The faith of our polish parishioners is outstanding as well.
Polka festival is this weekend in Cedar.
Stop by if your in the neighborhood.
