This was from my meditations this morning.
It’s a living source of Joy, as is the living bread that nurtures our soul;
There is a further truth that St. Paul teaches us. God not only brought us back to life; he “made us sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (2:6). Paul is speaking here of the unfathomable mystery that Church Fathers have called “deification.” God’s plan is that we not only gain our lives back, but that we become “partakers of the divine nature” as St. Peter says (2 Peter 1:4). We will “be like him for we will see him as he is” according to St. John (1 John 3:2). We will join the society of the eternal Church and share the company of the whole angelic world. That is what we have been created for, and that is why we all long for our true homeland, why “we groan, and long to put on our heavenly dwelling” (2 Corinthians 5:2).
Partakers in the divine nature in living that Joy to the fullest. It’s the magnet that attracts souls to conversion. It’s a joyful, sorrowful, luminous and glorious mystery that we live in each day.
“Jesus. Make my heart like unto thine.”
