News that I missed, courtesy of The Babylon Bee:
SACRAMENTO, CA — A piece of the Golden State’s heritage was lost today, as the iconic grizzly bear that had adorned the California state flag announced that he had officially moved to Texas.
Monarch, the revered bear that has represented the state on its flag since it was officially adopted in 1911, revealed that he was leaving California for the Lone Star State after giving up hope that things at home would ever improve.
“I want to live in a state where my bear family has a better future,” he said. “California has perfect weather and amazing food options, but things have just fallen off a cliff around here over the last couple of decades. The taxes, the real estate prices, the progressive policies… I just don’t recognize it as the same state anymore. My family and I have purchased a nice house in Texas for a fraction of what it would cost us in California. It’ll be nice to feel like we live in America again.”
When asked about the departure of the state flag’s famous bear, Governor Gavin Newsom blamed President Donald Trump. “This is just another result of Trump’s divisive brand of leadership,” Newsom said. “It’s a sad day when even our wonderful Monarch the Grizzly Bear gets radicalized by Donald Trump’s extreme, fascist ideas. If Monarch wants out, I say good riddance. We welcome the search for newer, more diverse representation on our flag.”
Go here to read the rest. This type of exodus is not restricted to one blue state. In Illinois I have lost track of the number of people I know who have moved, or are in the process of moving, to Texas, Tennessee and Kentucky. The law mines have a growing practice of bankruptcy and foreclosures, the signs of a state in decline. The Blue State model produce states consisting of the very rich and the very poor, with an increasingly shrinking and fleeing middle class.
How does the Bee do it? That was low hanging Bear fruit. So obvious when you see it-
“The Blue State model produce states consisting of the very rich and the very poor, with an increasingly shrinking and fleeing middle class.”
Tell us all about it, eh.
The middle is being squeezed to death.
Both sides of my family have been in California since the late 1800s and I weep over what has happened here. The lies and treachery and money laundering from the Democratic Party here is scary. No wonder they’re afraid of the 2030 census, California is losing political power and people by the second. (Gosh, I’m a Chatty Cathy on here today!)

The only think keeping Illinois’ economy functioning at all are its 11 nuclear power plants supplying 50% of the state’s electricity. But politicians in Chicago and Springfield think electricity comes from useless, worthless shiny solar mirrors and twirling wind mill blades.
In NYS it has gotten so bad that Gov Hochul, Andy Cuomo’s successor, even wants to build a new nuclear power plant in Massena upstate. Cuomo could have kept 2000 MWe of safe clean electricity at the Indian Point nuclear power plants available, but hydrocarbon interests under the masquerade of green renewable energy were so much more lucrative to politicians while impoverishing to the citizenry. Just remember: every solar or wind turbine facility is another methane burner for the 70% of the time solar and wind don’t work.
So people flee from that for which they have voted. Some of them don’t go to Texas; instead, they come here to the Carolinas and vote for the same damn thing from which they fled. Fortunately, there are four honking nuke plants around Charlotte, NC (two to the north and two to the west) where I live and very few antinukes (so far). But more godless liberals are coming. I wish that they would stay where they are to reap the full benefit of their voting record.

I see this too with many Diocese’ including my own. The wealthy attend expensive diocesan high schools…. the poor are served, especially the illegals. But the middle class working man and woman, are not given any attention. If you doubt what I am saying, take a look at your Diocese newspaper. Mine is all fancy schools and assist the illegals. I have nothing against either, but the middle is the real “stranger” that is ignored.
