Go here to read the story. Francis famously believed in his minions making messes, and he certainly left more than enough messes to be sorted out by his successor. Pope Leo has been enjoying the usual, greater than usual actually, papal honeymoon that almost all new popes get. However, that will be drawing to an end, and dealing with the protected predators of Francis will be one of the left over messes he will need to address pronto. My guess is that he has a plan to do so. He has time, but not a great amount of that precious commodity.

In all seriousness, there ought to be some sort of clerical chain gang instituted. I know the guy has a bad heart (in more ways than one) but some sort of low impact menial work or productiveness would seem just.
Have this criminal bishop clean bedpans and toilets 4 hours/2 nights a week at a Catholic hospital.
Rupnik deserves a fifteen minute interview with each of the fathers of the young sisters he manipulated and abused.
That Rupnik is still free to move about the land cannot last another month, sooner.

PF made him a Bishop knowing full well what he did after the fact. This piece of work used his “homosexuality” as his criminal defence in his trial and yet the Church is paying to house and feed him, AND send him to Rome for “heart operation”! Priest or no priest, the man is a criminal. He was even put in charge if Church finances. How much of Church funds has he swiped for his personal use? How many red flags does the Catholic Church need…
I bet he has no illness or need for surgery and the reason he didn’t stay in Argentina for his “operation” is because he is using his “illness” as another ploy to get out of serving a prison sentence. The man is a criminal in every sense of the word.
