Frank, All is not lost! I give a talk to my Catholic recruits showing the vestments and explaining their origin and spiritual meaning. The servers are told about the vesting prayers and what is asked for with each one.
Also, I have to say, beautiful (baroque) vestments make a big impression on young people who are surrounded by ugly, low-class clothing and decoration everywhere.
